Ncuti Gatwa has made his debut in a new acting role following his departure from Doctor Who, as he stars in the upcoming comedy movie titled “The Roses.
The movie, modeled after Warren Adler’s novel “The War of the Roses” and serving as an update to the 1989 film, features Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman portraying characters named Theo and Ivy. Their marriage unravels vividly throughout the storyline.
In this scenario, Gatwa portrays the role of Jeffrey, who serves as the manager of a restaurant that belongs to Ivy. Recently, Gatwa conversed with James Mottram from TopMob, alongside other fellow cast members.
In the interview, Gatwa was questioned if he picked up any advice on relationships from working on the movie, but at first, he stated that he wasn’t sure he had.
In a marriage, you form a unified whole – two individuals who must navigate this journey side by side, working towards mutual growth. Reflecting on this, I can’t help but appreciate the challenges that come with such a commitment.
In addition to Drew Barrymore, “The Roses” features a star-studded cast including Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, Allison Janney, Sunita Mani, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, among others.
Earlier this year, Doctor Who bid farewell to its actor, Gatwa, during the final episode where his unexpected transformation into Billie Piper took place.
