Doctor Who superfan Rylan rallies to “save” series amid uncertain future: “We can’t not have it”

With the future of Doctor Who up in the air, ardent fan Rylan is advocating for its preservation, emphasizing that it represents a cherished British tradition.

In a more simplified version, the presenter who featured in the “Doctor Who” episode titled “The Interstellar Song Contest” this year, recently moderated a panel at the Edinburgh TV Festival alongside Russell Tovey, who is slated to act in the spin-off series “The War Between the Land and the Sea”.

Before broaching the topic of the show with Tovey, Rylan expressed: “We share a mutual interest, something I’m deeply fond of and passionate about – and that’s Doctor Who.

Let’s ensure the return of Doctor Who! It’s an essential part of British culture that we can’t afford to lose. Personally speaking, I’ve been a dedicated fan of Doctor Who ever since its reboot in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston, and every episode has captured my heart.

I hopped onto discussing my part in the spin-off series, emphasizing that the narrative is heavily influenced by the pressing issue of climate change.

He continued by stating that you may experience feelings of a racing heart. But also, there’s love involved. And it is this love that keeps drawing him back.

Tovey expressed about Barclay, “He cherishes his life and his loved ones deeply, and he’ll go to great lengths to safeguard them. Prepare to be touched and amused by him.

The discussion continues regarding the potential future of Doctor Who, as Disney has not yet made a decision on whether they will approve additional seasons.

In a previous statement, the BBC refuted claims that the series had been “shelved”.

According to Showrunner Davies, he hasn’t made up his mind about a specific decision regarding the show yet. Previously, BBC Studios CEO Tom Fussell had expressed to fans that the BBC continues to be deeply dedicated to the success of the program.

The War Between the Land and the Sea will air on BBC One on BBC iPlayer.
