Dominic Cooper and Romola Garai, known for her role in ‘Vigil,’ will star in a new romantic drama coming to ITV. The series is written by Danny Brocklehurst, who frequently works with Harlan Coben on shows like ‘Missing You’ and ‘Fool Me Once’.
The show centers on Tom and Beth, who unexpectedly become connected when their teenage children, Jess and Ollie, begin dating at school.
Tom and Beth share a powerful, instant attraction that leads to an affair they try to keep secret from their spouses. The intensity of this connection mirrors the strong emotions experienced by their children.
Shelley Conn, known for her role in Bridgerton, and Matthew McNulty, from The Jetty, play the spouses caught in the middle of the affair. Conn portrays Hannah, Tom’s wife, and McNulty plays Neil, Beth’s husband.
As a total sucker for a good drama, I’m already hooked by the sound of ITV’s *Adultery*. It’s being billed as a really scandalous and steamy love story, but it’s more than just that. Apparently, it digs into some really interesting stuff – how class differences play out, how people deal with loss, and the whole impact of social media on our lives. From what I hear, it’s a wild ride full of passion, the ups and downs of being a parent, and a whole lot of danger!
Tom and Beth begin a powerful and consuming love affair that risks destroying everything they’ve built. The story explores the raw and complicated emotions of adultery, focusing on the lives of two regular families caught in difficult circumstances.
Screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst expressed his excitement about the cast of ‘Adultery,’ calling it a ‘wonderful privilege’ to work with such talented actors.
Our show features characters with rich, complicated feelings, and we really needed exceptional actors to portray them well. I’m incredibly happy with how it turned out.
Andrew Knott, known for ‘Gavin & Stacey’, plays Dave, the ex-husband of Beth’s late best friend. James Murray (‘The Crown’) and Charley Webb (‘The Long Shadow’) appear as Tom’s brother and sister-in-law, rounding out the main cast.

Producer Ben Stephenson said he’s excited about the talented cast they’ve put together for Danny’s fantastic scripts.
Dominic and Romola are incredibly talented actors, and it’s fantastic to see them in this exciting, complex, and captivating show with their wonderful co-stars, Matthew and Shelley.
The six-part series *Adultery* will be directed by Will Sinclair (director of *Vera*, episodes 1-3) and Daniel O’Hara (director of *Stay Close*, episodes 4-6). It will air on ITV1 and ITVX, with the premiere date to be announced later.
Adultery is coming soon to ITV and STV.
