As a huge TMNT fan, I’m really excited about the new Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from IDW! It’s not just the Turtles getting all the action, though – a lot of familiar faces, both good and bad, are showing up. And get this – they just gave me a sneak peek at issue #2, and it looks like Donatello is teaming up with Metalhead! It’s awesome to see Metalhead back, and this preview is a real treat for any longtime fan.
The cover of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #2 shows Donatello and Metalhead at Robotics camp – a perfect vacation for Donnie! But things quickly go wrong when Bishop and her Mechazoids arrive, putting Donnie in a dangerous fight for his life.

The race quickly turns into a thrilling chase as Donatello tries to reach the finish line, but his robotic enemy blocks his path. Things are looking tough for Donnie, though the cover suggests his robot friend might be able to help him turn the tables.

The second issue of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is written by Mikey Levitt, with artwork by Louie Joyce. It’s available for pre-order now through October 27th, and will be released on December 10th. Read the official description for the issue below.
Don’t miss the next issue of this exciting story based on the popular show Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Donnie is loving robotics camp so much he doesn’t want to leave, but Bishop is secretly plotting to keep him there – she’s using the camp as a cover to steal Donnie’s inventions for her robot army. Can Donnie figure out what’s happening, or will his overconfidence get in the way?
Levitt has contributed to both the television show and the comic books. He hinted that fans of the show will likely enjoy the comic series, which will bring back several characters – even some who’ve already appeared to have left the story.

Levitt expressed his excitement about writing new TMNT comics, calling it a dream come true given the franchise’s iconic status. Having worked on both the show and the comics, he believes there are many exciting new directions for the characters, and fans will enjoy the upcoming storylines. He hinted that fans of the robot characters from past TMNT iterations should definitely check out the new comics, and teased that some villains previously thought defeated may not be gone for good.
Joyce described working on the series as “an absolute dream” and is really enjoying bringing the characters and their world to life. She loves the new Turtles’ unique style and is having fun adding her own art and stories to it. According to Joyce, the series is full of humor, heart, and action – everything fans expect from TMNT.
As a huge fan of the Turtles, I’m excited to share that the first issue of the new Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic is already out! And mark your calendars, because issue #2 arrives in comic shops on December 10th. Can’t wait to read it!
