As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Joanne Froggatt, the captivating actress behind Anna from Downton Abbey, has spilled some intriguing details about Anna and John Bates’ storyline in the upcoming third and final movie!
Over the years, the drama has relentlessly tested the resolve of its married servants, portrayed by Froggatt and Brendan Coyle. They’ve endured war wounds, vindictive former spouses, potential death row convictions, extortion, and numerous other challenges.
In Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, nothing will spoil the happiness for the popular character, as they’ll receive the heartwarming conclusion fans have eagerly anticipated. Speaking to TopMob magazine, Froggatt shared some exciting news about her character’s upcoming storyline: “I’m currently pregnant and expecting my second child.
She mentioned that Julian Fellowes graciously incorporated it into the plot since at this point, I become quite apparent, which made it more logical.
She added: “It turned out well for Anna and Bates, as they were looking towards a positive future. Essentially, the Bateses receive their happily ever after, a scenario that many are rooting for.

In the upcoming film, we find ourselves in the 1930s, as the Crawley family resides at their cherished estate. The family patriarch, Robert Crawley portrayed by Hugh Bonneville, is preparing to pass leadership to his daughter, Lady Mary, played by Michelle Dockery.
As a cinephile, I must say that the newest trailer hints at some dramatic turns ahead for this family. The specter of public shame and economic strife seems poised to send them spiraling into chaos.
In this latest chapter of our beloved series, I’m thrilled to report that a good chunk of the exceptional cast from prior episodes is back for more! The talented Dominic West, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, and Lesley Nicol are all set to grace our screens once again. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the table in this third installment!
Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, and Douglas Reith will once again take on their characters, while we’ll see some new additions including Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan.
