Dragon Ball Debuts New Bulma Anime Makeover (& It’s Great)

I’m so excited! Dragon Ball just revealed Bulma’s latest anime redesign, and honestly, it’s fantastic – just like all her previous makeovers. It’s all part of the celebration for Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary, marking the original manga’s debut in Weekly Shonen Jump! And the best part? They’ve announced a ton of new projects! We’re getting a full anime remake, a brand new series down the line, and even a new game in the Dragon Ball video game series. It’s a great time to be a Dragon Ball fan!

Earlier this year, fans were excited to learn that a new Dragon Ball video game, called the “Age 1000 Project,” was in development with character designs by the late Akira Toriyama. This weekend’s Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 revealed that this game is actually the long-awaited return of the Xenoverse series – Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. The game will also introduce a new design for the character Bulma.

Dragon Ball Introduces New Future Bulma Design

The upcoming game, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, is set far into the future of the Dragon Ball universe. The idea of the game taking place in Age 1000 originated from the development team asking Akira Toriyama to envision what the future of the franchise could look like. According to producer Akio Iyoka, Toriyama’s vision will be the core of the game’s story and world. Toriyama is expected to be heavily involved in the game’s creation, making the introduction of a new version of Bulma particularly exciting for fans.

Iyoku hinted that Akira Toriyama contributed to many aspects of the new game, including the world, story, and characters – which is what fans were eager to hear. He also confirmed that all the new characters revealed so far were originally designed by Toriyama. This means Toriyama’s creative vision continues to shape the franchise, even after his passing.

What’s Next for Dragon Ball?

Fans can still look forward to more from the Dragon Ball series. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is a revamped version of the “Battle of Gods” story arc that originally aired in the TV anime over ten years ago. Coming this fall, this new version has been completely updated with enhanced visuals, added scenes, revised footage, re-recorded audio with new music and sound effects, and a rebuilt storyline.

I’m so hyped! It looks like Dragon Ball Super is continuing with a brand new anime series! They’ve officially announced Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, and it’s going to adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc from the manga. It picks up right after the Universe Survival and Broly sagas, and from what I’ve heard, we can expect an even more powerful villain and some absolutely massive battles! They haven’t given us a release date yet, but honestly, just knowing it’s coming is enough to get me thrilled!
