Dragon Ball Super’s Funniest Plot Hole Never Got an Explanation & That’s For the Best

Two decades after finishing the original *Dragon Ball* manga, Akira Toriyama returned with *Dragon Ball Super*, this time with artwork by Toyotaro. The announcement of a sequel was a welcome surprise for fans, and it was immediately popular. The story picks up a few years after the defeat of Buu, with Goku and his friends enjoying peaceful lives with their families. While things have been calm, Goku and Vegeta haven’t stopped training and pushing their limits. But just when everything seemed too peaceful, Beerus, the most powerful god in the universe, woke up and began searching for a Super Saiyan God.

This storyline, which originally appeared as four chapters in the manga and the 2013 film *Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods*, was later expanded to 14 episodes in the anime series with added content. The incredibly powerful god Beerus easily defeated Goku and his friends at first, but he eventually became an ally and a fan favorite. True to his status as a god who has lived forever, Beerus caused plenty of chaos throughout his life. One of his past deeds created a convenient plot twist, and the scene itself is quite humorous.

Beerus Said He Wiped Out the Dinosaurs in Dragon Ball Super

Beerus woke up and started searching for the Super Saiyan God he’d seen in a dream. He believed this warrior could potentially match his own power as a God of Destruction, so he was eager to find them. His attendant, Whis, could only find records that the Saiyan planet had been destroyed, with a few survivors escaping to Earth. Hearing this, Beerus recalled a time when he destroyed all the dinosaurs on a planet simply because they had been disrespectful.

Thankfully, the planet survived and life continued to develop, eventually leading to the world we live in today. Dinosaurs have always been present on Earth, and they still exist. While they weren’t featured after the battle with the Gods, they remain a part of the world’s history. Beerus mentioning wiping them out creates a minor inconsistency, but it doesn’t require a serious explanation – the scene was simply meant to be a funny combination of the story and real-world prehistoric life.
