is finally coming back with a new anime, and one Naruto actor wants in on the fun.
Voice actor Neil Kaplan, known for his work on anime like Attack on Titan (as Theo Magath) and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (as Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto), has expressed interest in taking on a new role.
Matt Kaplan hinted he’d be interested in voicing Moro after seeing a discussion on X (formerly Twitter) about who could best play the character in both English and Japanese. When a fan suggested him for the role, Kaplan playfully responded by saying, “If you think I’d be good, write to them and let them know!”
Naruto Star Wants to Play Dragon Ball Super’s Newest Villain Moro
Kaplan recently shared on X why writing a physical letter is more impactful than just tagging a company on social media. They explained that companies are much more likely to pay attention to someone who goes to the effort of finding their address, writing a polite letter, and mailing it, compared to a quick social media post which is easy to overlook.
Someone suggested casting a much older actor for Moro, similar to how Erik Lehnsherr was portrayed as Magneto in the X-Men movies. He playfully responded by asking if his past voice work as Magneto would make a difference.
Kaplan played Magneto in Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers, an action-packed anime series similar to Pokémon created by Toei Animation and Disney Japan.
It’s much too soon to know who will voice Moro in either the Japanese or English versions of the upcoming anime. While not much was revealed about the production of Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, the announcement that the popular manga arc is finally being adapted into animation has sparked a lot of online discussion about who might be cast.
While fans wait for the Moro arc to be animated, they can enjoy a refreshed version of the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus storyline. This remastered version features improved animation and includes brand-new scenes taken from the Dragon Ball Super manga.
You can read earlier chapters of the Dragon Ball Super manga, created by the late Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou, on the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps. The manga is currently on break, with no new chapters being released at this time.
