The Dune 3 trailer drops….

Denis Villeneuve has finished filming the third and final Dune movie, completing what unexpectedly became a trilogy. Before starting work on the next James Bond film – featuring a new actor in the lead role – Villeneuve wrapped up Dune, and the studio has now released the trailer for the third installment.

The story centers on Muad’dib, destined for immense power, and his fulfillment of an age-old plan to establish a ruler unlike any other – one born of humanity, not divine origin.

How we got a third Dune film..

Denis Villeneuve and Brian K. Vaughan co-wrote Dune 3, officially titled Dune: Part Three, which concludes Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy. The film is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, the second book in his original six-book Dune series. Herbert originally planned a seventh book, but passed away before finishing it. His son, Brian Herbert, completed the story using his father’s notes and outlines, collaborating with Kevin J. Anderson to split it into two books: Hunters of Dune (2006) and Sandworms of Dune (2007).

The first movie earned $410 million, and the second brought in $714 million, so we expect the third film to do just as well – and it might even be an Oscar contender this time.

The incredible cast…

The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach De Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem. It also introduces newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke.

 Dune: Part Three will be released in the UK on 18th December 2026
