Robert Irwin struggling to find someone to tango with in the spotlight.
The Dancing With the Stars contestant said it’s been tough to date when so much of his life is public.
Robert told The New York Times that dating is incredibly difficult these days, explaining that any romantic encounter is likely to be shared on TikTok almost immediately.
Still, the 21-year-old insisted that the pressure hasn’t changed who he is at his core.
Robert stated he remains consistently himself – in his words and actions – no matter the situation. He emphasized he doesn’t put on any false appearances or try to be someone he’s not.
He added, “It’s just me, and I stand by who I am.”
When Robert needs to relax, he often returns to Australia, where he enjoys surfing every morning.
“That is my meditation,” he shared. “It’s my church. It’s my everything.”
Robert will be competing in the season 34 finale of Dancing With the Stars on November 25th with professional dancer Witney Carson, and recently, there’s been a lot of talk about his romantic life.
Earlier this month, people began speculating about a possible romance between the reality TV star and Xochitl Gomez, the winner of season 32 of the ABC competition show, after they shared a close dance during a special episode celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary.

Okay, so when they finally asked him about it, he totally played it cool! He didn’t say yes, he didn’t say no, he just… dodged the question! Can you believe it? Instead, he went on and on about how amazing it was to dance the jive with her on the November 11th episode. Seriously, he couldn’t stop talking about the dancing! It was the cutest, most infuriating thing ever! He knows he’s killing me!
“We had the best time,” he told TMZ at the time. “That dance was so much fun.”
Despite that, Robert happily shared how much he admires Xochitl, describing her as someone who fills the dance floor with energy, fun, and passion.
Robert recently told Deadline that he and his dance partner share a similar approach to the jive. He explained they focus on having fun, then rely on Witney to refine their technique and ensure proper form, like pointed toes.

Despite living in different states, they’re enjoying their friendship and are looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
Despite initial speculation, this romance didn’t last. Gabby and her co-star never officially became a couple. She later began dating comedian and writer Robby Hoffman in August 2023, and they married in January 2025.

After finishing fifth on season 31 of the dance competition, the couple publicly announced they were dating on Valentine’s Day 2023. The actor, known for their role in CODA, shared a selfie with the choreographer and wrote, “My Valentine. Happy Valentine’s Day!”

As a huge fan, I was so excited when TopMob News reported back in December 2020 that Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset was dating Pasha Pashkov from Dancing With the Stars! It was fun to learn they’d actually both been on season 29 of Dancing With the Stars, even though they weren’t partners at the time.
After dating for two months, TopMob News learned the couple had broken up. A source close to the realtor said they enjoyed their time together, but ultimately decided to go their separate ways. The split was amicable and there was no drama – they simply weren’t a good match at that time.
Chrishell has since found love with partner G Flip.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve followed Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev’s journey closely. They were always great friends – truly platonic – even during their time on Total Bellas back in 2017. After Nikki’s split from John Cena in 2018, they reconnected, and it was lovely to see. She publicly confirmed they were dating in May 2019, and things moved pretty quickly – they were engaged by the end of that year!
The WWE Hall of Famer discovered she was pregnant shortly after getting engaged in Paris, and in 2020, she and her partner welcomed their son, Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev.
Unfortunately, Nikki and Artem are now divorcing. Nikki filed for divorce in September 2024, just two weeks after Artem was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. However, the District Attorney’s office decided not to press charges after carefully reviewing the investigation and all available evidence.
Nikki and Artem finalized their divorce in November 2024. As part of the settlement, they both withdrew the restraining orders they had filed against each other, hoping to create a better co-parenting relationship for their son and move forward.

You might remember Sabrina and Mark – they really had a spark on season five! They actually started dating while on the show, but sadly, things didn’t work out a few months after they left. It’s a testament to how great they were as people, though, that they stayed friends. I even saw Sabrina come back to support Mark in the ballroom the very next season – so sweet!
Showmance or Real Deal: Real deal.

Interestingly, they’d actually gone on a few dates before he joined the show. Although they publicly denied being a couple during season eighteen, they still seemed to enjoy flirting and hinting at a connection while performing.
