The latest update for Dying Light 2, called The Beast, includes exciting improvements like smarter AI and community challenges. To celebrate the end of spooky season, players can also enjoy a new Halloween event throughout October.

Dying Light: The Beast update adds surrendering enemies and brutal finishers

The newest update to Dying Light: The Beast changes how enemies behave in the game. If you aim a gun at human enemies with melee weapons, they’ll now surrender, making the game feel more realistic and giving players more options in how they approach encounters.

In addition to the AI’s updated behavior, we’ve added nine powerful new finishing moves. You can perform these brutal takedowns with a variety of weapons.

  • Two for long blunt weapons,
  • Two for long bladed weapons,
  • One for two-handed blunt weapons,
  • One for two-handed bladed weapons,
  • One for knives,
  • One for knuckledusters.

The update also brings new community challenges focused on accuracy.
For the Sharpshooter challenge:

  • Goal #1: Land 10,000,000 accurate shots for the Marksman reward,
  • Goal #2: Land 20,000,000 accurate shots for the Bullseye reward.

Dying Light 2 is getting into the spooky spirit with its Halloween Showdown event, happening from October 30th to November 20th, 2025. Players can participate in weekly challenges and choose a side in a competition between two groups.

As a player, I love that we get to collect candies from zombies and give them to Baka! It’s awesome because depending on how much my team donates, we unlock really cool stuff – like weapons, charms, and outfits themed around our faction. It’s a great way to work together and get rewarded!

Get ready for Halloween in Villedor! The city is decked out for the holiday with spooky new enemies like Pumpkintiles, Witches, and Scaregoons. The Tower Raid has been updated with fresh layouts, exciting rooftop battles, and a new look. Plus, check out the in-store bundles, including the CyberRaider bundle and more!

The update includes a fresh scoreboard, and players can now unlock two new characters: the Cursed Pirate and CyberRaider from Tower Raid.
