EA has unveiled a fresh trailer for its upcoming football title, EA Sports FC 26, focusing primarily on the intricacies of its Ultimate Team feature this time around. The 5-and-a-half-minute long video touches upon various aspects, such as live events, enhancements to Rivals and Champs, and the reintroduction of repeatable EVOs. To conclude, the trailer delves into the specifics of the new Competitive Gameplay mode. You can watch it here below.
Live Events such as Gauntlets and League Tournaments are referred to as an “invigorating extension” of FUT’s competitive framework, providing players with additional ways to compete against each other, and subsequently increasing opportunities for earning rewards. The Rivals and Champs system is undergoing a transformation, leading to the elimination of Qualifiers. Additionally, there is now an extra level in the Weekend League.
The structure of the tournament within EA Sports FC 26 allows participants to participate in consecutive significant matches. Successful competitors progress further in the tournaments, while those who lose are redirected to the lobby. A revised matchmaking system guarantees that players will only compete against others at a comparable stage in the tournament brackets. The game offers exclusive rewards for tournaments, with several levels of rewards provided to motivate players to re-engage in a new tournament after a previous loss.
The new Competitive Gameplay mode, based on player feedback from earlier games, powers everything. This mode is the exclusive choice for playing FUT matches online, with a focus on swift, smooth gameplay and reducing the influence of unpredictable player traits due to randomness.
This month, EA has shared some insights about the adjustments to the Clubs feature in EA Sports FC 26. The main highlight is the introduction of a new system called Archetypes, designed to enable players to tailor their in-game characters, fostering better teamwork through harmonious abilities and passive enhancements. The game will provide multiple Archetype options for each of the four on-field positions, with each Archetype coming with its unique set of advantages, including distinctive playstyles.
In addition to new Rush tournaments being introduced for clubs, where victories propel you forward in a series of knockout matches while defeats consume one chance at the competition and reset you to the opening round, EA Sports FC 26 will also undergo multiple upgrades to its User Interface. Notably, the Be-A-Goalkeeper mode will receive a revamped look, featuring distinct camera and sound effects for an enhanced experience.
The game titled “EA Sports FC 26” will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and even Nintendo Switch 2 starting from September 26. For a comprehensive look into the game, explore our coverage of its detailed trailer.
