Denise Fox has been struggling with keeping her cancer diagnosis a secret, but she’s now decided to tell her family the truth in EastEnders.
At the beginning of this month, the character portrayed by Diane Parish received a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia, which is a type of blood cancer. Fans particularly enjoy Ms. Parish’s work on the show.
She appeared very tired and weak, so doctors ran more tests. A specialist recommended she begin chemotherapy immediately to give her the best chance of recovery.
Pat Butcher first told Yolande Trueman about what happened, but before she could share the news with her boyfriend, Jack Branning, even worse information came to light in Walford.
Denise’s grandson, Jordan (Jahsaiah Williams), was involved in a car accident with Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt). She immediately went to the hospital to be with her daughter, Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams), and didn’t respond to anyone checking on how she was doing.

After a difficult night watching over Jordan, she finally went home and explained everything to Jack.
He accompanied her to a consultation, but when they learned Denise would need to spend a month recovering alone in a separate ward, she decided against treatment. She wanted to be available to support Chelsea and Jordan instead.
Today on Walford General, Kim revealed she’s engaged to Howie! She showed off her new ring, explaining that Howie had proposed, quickly diverting attention from other things happening around her.
The family spontaneously decided to have a party at The Vic pub, but Chelsea noticed her mom seemed preoccupied.
Honestly, I was a bit surprised when Jack went to Phil Mitchell for help! It seemed like a long shot, but Jack was really hoping Phil could get through to Denise. Unfortunately, Denise made it pretty clear to Phil that he needed to mind his own business, so it didn’t go well at all.
Kim grabbed the microphone at the pub and unexpectedly launched into a heartfelt speech about how much she loved her sister. Denise was immediately moved to tears, and when she saw Jack and Phil walk in, she quickly excused herself to the restroom.

Chelsea followed, and was shocked to hear her mum sobbing through the cubicle door.
Denise, after initially shutting down, went back to the bar to explain what was troubling her. Surrounded by the Fox, Trueman, and Branning families, she shared some heartbreaking news.
Will she now decide to seek treatment and make a recovery?
