Micah Balfour, who played Junior Knight on EastEnders, has left the show after quickly getting involved in the recent family storyline.
It was announced last month that the character would be leaving the show, and his final storyline began earlier this week.
After expressing to his father, George, that he missed his son Xavier, he took a job in Dubai to live nearer to both Xavier and his former wife, Monique.
He announced today that he’s officially signed the contract and will be leaving very soon.

George was more worried about his brother, Kojo Asare (played by Dayo Koleosho). Kojo was shaken up after being threatened with a knife by a drug dealer named Okie Okyere (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu). Although Okie is now dead – accidentally stabbed by Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) – he had many connections in London’s drug world, and Kojo feared those contacts might come after him.
Adding to the difficulties, George’s brother Kobina insisted Kojo come back to Ghana, worried about his safety. Even though it meant uprooting his life again, George believed this might actually be a positive step.
Junior realized Kojo had built a new life in Walford and wanted to help him stay there.
Unbeknownst to George, he went to see Ravi Gulati, the man in charge of the drug dealing, and pleaded with him to leave Kojo alone. He hoped this would also help him repair his relationship with his family, who had been upset with him for months after he’d been manipulated into letting drug dealers use his home.
With the deal finalised, Junior was free to leave.
He packed his bags, said goodbye to the Knight family and people he knew from the Bridge Street market, and then gave Kojo a final present: his car. He handed over the keys to his uncle.

With Junior gone, things seemed to be heading on a path to normality.
I was absolutely on the edge of my seat when Nicola Mitchell, played by Laura Doddington, discovered Harry. He’d taken an overdose and was barely conscious! She immediately dialed emergency services, desperately trying to rouse him – it was a really intense scene.
Will Harry be ok?
