A past character from EastEnders has unexpectedly reappeared as Ravi Gulati’s mental health struggles continue.
Last week on the show, Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) made fun of Ravi for helping Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) tidy up her new shop space on Turpin Road. Usually, Ravi would have responded, but this time he just stood there looking blank.
He dozed off in The Queen Vic and became aggressive when Kat Moon tried to wake him. This alerted his stepmother, Suki Panesar-Unwin, and prompted Priya Nandra-Hart to share details about his recent difficulties.
That night, while lay in bed, Ravi sprung upwards and tried to lash out at a sleeping Priya.

Things got even harder in today’s episode, as he struggled to cope with what had happened. He hurt himself again in the kitchen, and Priya immediately took him to the hospital. He had made a deep cut on his leg and was very scared about the repercussions.
Ravi and Priya unexpectedly found themselves in a complicated situation in a small hospital room. Making things even more awkward, the doctor assigned to Ravi was Nina Gupta (Hersha Verity), who used to be his girlfriend and stepmother.
Nina joined the BBC soap opera in 2022 as the wife of Ranveer Gulati, played by Anil Goutam. She was secretly working with Ravi to murder Ranveer. When Ranveer sexually assaulted Suki, Ravi carried out the murder, and Nina helped cover it up.

Ravi and Nina tried to blame Suki for something, but ultimately Ravi sided with his family and cut ties with Nina.
Priya felt awful about having to deal with Ravi and was scared of the consequences. She assured him she was on his side, but explained that because he seemed to have been stabbed, she was obligated to inform the police.
While not wanting to speak up about Ravi’s recent torment, Priya knew that she had little option.
Once Nina had received care, she wondered if she had enough support. She remembered that Ranveer had been the primary caregiver for Davinder, nicknamed “Nugget” (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), while Priya was away, and felt like a burden to him.

She was curious about what had led to Ravi’s state, noting that he’d recovered surprisingly quickly after the incident with Ranveer, despite a brief moment of instability. Nina said she was willing to let him leave, as long as he continued seeing his therapist.
Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) alerted everyone in Walford when Nugget disappeared. He’d been upset after some kids questioned him about his epilepsy while he was at McKlunky’s, and ran off feeling embarrassed.
Ravi was desperately searching for his son and worried because he couldn’t reach him by phone. He hurried through the streets, and at one point, even suspected his son, Harry, might be involved in the disappearance.
Priya intervened just as Nugget arrived, diffusing a tense situation between the men. Ravi insisted he go home, and, with Priya now sleeping on the couch, he started trying to prevent anyone from leaving.
Can Ravi get the help he needs, and is this the last we’ve seen of Nina?
