Though Christmas seems far off, preparations for some of the largest TV productions are already in full swing, such as EastEnders.
As the holiday season approaches, EastEnders doesn’t shy away from delivering dramatic twists, such as the unraveling of The Six, the disclosure of Max and Stacey’s affair, and Den’s divorce proceedings against Angie. This year, it seems we might be witnessing one of the best storylines yet.
Following their victory for Serial Drama at the National Television Awards, newly appointed executive producer Ben Wadey was queried about upcoming holiday content, hinting that viewers should prepare for some delightful surprises.
The disclosure elicited audible gasps of excitement from the audience, and Wadey made sure to remain tight-lipped about any additional information.
Under a veil of secrecy about which Walford family will take center stage, viewers eagerly anticipate the upcoming autumn storyline.
Later this year, Wadey hinted at an abundance of family turmoil involving not only the Brannings but also the Slaters.
Wadey mentioned about the Slater family: “Indeed, Zoe has returned to the town square, and it’s clear that her connection with Kat is complex. Over a span of 20 years, they both have an opportunity to rebuild their bond and understand each other better.
It seems that Kat might have anticipated a certain scenario upon Zoe’s return, but encountering an adult daughter may be more complex than Kat imagined. They have much to learn about one another as they navigate their new relationship.
As a cinephile, I can’t help but feel a thrill when I envision Zoe, a character brimming with enigmas. She’s about to step onto the set we call ‘The Square’, and boy, does it promise to be an exhilarating ride this fall! The Slaters are in for a whirlwind of surprises, and I, for one, can hardly wait!
