Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) has had a dramatic year in EastEnders. When she arrived in Walford with her partner, Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw), and his son Joel (Max Murray), no one expected her life to take such a dark path.
Joel, after getting involved with a hateful online group that targeted women, started attacking her, harshly criticizing her personality and claiming she hadn’t lived a fulfilling life as a woman because she didn’t have children.
Look, I’m a huge movie buff, and this plotline is wild. She knew everything he did – all the bad stuff, the shady dealings – and not only did she know, she actually paid someone off to keep him out of trouble! It’s like she was actively covering for him, protecting him from the consequences of his actions. Honestly, it’s a seriously messed up situation.
Unfortunately, this led to a terrible outcome. Because Vicki and Ross supported Joel’s behavior, he felt like he could do anything, and he violently attacked Vicki, knocking her down and continuing to kick her even when she was unable to defend herself.

Following the reports of his sexist behavior earlier this year, Joel was arrested. His trial is approaching, and we’ll be covering it as he answers for what he did, according to the speaker.

He’s denying the charges, and it’s frustrating for everyone to see this case go to trial. Vicky is especially having a hard time with everything.
Vicky really wants a serious relationship with Ross, but she keeps getting reminded of her past experiences with Joel.

Ross isn’t the only one interested in Vicki. Zack Hudson has also been making a strong play for her attention, and they recently shared a kiss after a personal conversation.
Wadey has confirmed this will now be a fully-fledged love triangle in 2026.
Vicky seems to be developing feelings for Zack, which is adding a classic love triangle to the New Year’s storyline, according to the source.
So, are we team Ricki or team Zicki?

As a huge soap fan, I follow Michael Adams’ work at TopMob religiously. He’s their Soaps Editor, and basically knows everything that’s happening in all the big shows – from the drama in Weatherfield (that’s Coronation Street!) to Walford (EastEnders), and everything in between like Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. Before TopMob, he was a Soaps Reporter at Metro for a couple of years, and get this – he actually worked on the sets of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale! So he really knows his stuff.
