Next week, I’ll be graced with the sight of a deeply touching reunion between Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) and Big Mo Harris (Laila Morse), as Zoe makes her dramatic comeback. The BBC has given us a sneak peek of this heartfelt encounter through some tantalizing photos they’ve shared.
In June, Zoe, who had been absent for two decades, momentarily resurfaced in the Square. However, when Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) encouraged her to reconcile with her mother Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), she quickly escaped through a window and took off to Barcelona.
The following week on BBC’s soap opera, Tommy (played by Sonny Kendall), Zoe’s younger brother, finds her and brings her back home.
Kicking off the new week, Tommy has vanished after a heated disagreement with Kat. In a state of concern, Kat and Alfie Moon (played by Shane Richie) intensely look for him. As their search persists, they grow increasingly worried that Tommy might not return.

Overwhelmed by relief, Kat receives a message from Tommy saying he’s waiting for her outside. However, it turns out to be a double reunion for her, as not only does she see Tommy, but also her long-lost daughter, who shares her name – Kat, too, is standing there.
It appears that while Kat may find herself surprised upon seeing her daughter, Zoe receives a more heartfelt reception from her great-grandmother Big Mo Harris. A series of initial images depict the two women exchanging a warm embrace in the corridor of the Queen Vic.
As more details emerge about Zoe’s life during her absence, the question remains: What’s her hidden truth and how will Kat respond when she learns it?

It wasn’t long after Zoe was last spotted on the Square in June that it seemed clear she was struggling financially. She confided in her cousin Stacey and stepfather Alfie that she was evading debt collectors from Spain, but it later came to light that she had been fabricating her circumstances.
Upon deciding to journey to Barcelona, I felt compelled to share with Stacey and Alfie over the phone that my actions had led me to a regrettable consequence so severe, it seemed my own family might choose to disassociate from me due to my indiscretions.
