EastEnders reveals mammoth Jasmine Fisher decision as Zoe Slater finally meets her son in early BBC iPlayer release

Zoe Slater is building a connection with one child on EastEnders, but she’s about to betray the trust of another.

Jasmine Fisher, also known as Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness, is facing a possible life sentence for the murder of her father, Anthony Trueman. However, viewers know she was actually defending herself, and crucial video evidence proving this hasn’t been found yet.

Okay, so I was picturing this scene – Zoe had no idea she was about to run into her son, Josh Goodwin (played by Joshua Vaughan), while heading to the prison. Apparently, he’d been at Oscar Branning’s (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) place all night and was hurrying to get himself together. The really sad part? His adoptive mum, Sandra (Dawn Steele), was seriously worried sick about him, completely unaware of where he’d been or that he was okay.

While sharing her worries with Denise and Kim, Josh arrived and quickly explained where he’d been. Zoe then joined them and immediately recognised Josh.

I could tell she really didn’t want to make things awkward or start a fight in public, but she definitely let him know she was interested in getting to know him better. It was a subtle way of putting it out there, you know?

Josh explained he didn’t blame his birth mother for giving him up, as he’d grown up happy with Sandra and cherished his time with his father and sister. Now, he simply wanted to understand what drove Jasmine to kill their biological father.

Kat Moon was overjoyed when she finally met her grandson at The Queen Vic. She was so emotional, she found it hard to express how she felt, and she wasn’t the only one.

Zoe expressed her desire to take things slowly and get to know him naturally, without rushing things or pressuring him into a relationship. He appeared pleased with their short time together and accepted their invitation to join the Slaters and Truemans for a meal the next day.

Unaware of Jasmine’s distress, she sat alone in the prison visiting room after Zoe didn’t come. She pleaded with the guard to allow her to wait, but wouldn’t be able to see her mother that day.

Returning to her cell, she called the pub to ask what had happened to her prearranged visit.

Kat explained that Josh’s unexpected arrival had been a bit disruptive. Jasmine took this as a sign that her family was finally moving forward, since Zoe had always hoped to reconnect with him.

Jasmine then asked to pass a message on – she was intending to plead guilty to Anthony’s murder.

Can the Slaters change her mind?
