EastEnders star shares heartbreak over the tragic death of beloved brother in emotional post

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but share my feelings about the heartfelt post from that extraordinary LA-based actor, now 49 years old. You know him as Aidan Brosnan from the BBC soap in ’93, who later dazzled us with his pop career. Recently, he opened up about his struggles, echoing the poignant words of Scottish singer sensation, Lewis Capaldi.

In response to Lewis’ post announcing his new song “Survive,” Sean confessed that he had experienced some difficult times and became emotional after hearing one of Lewis’ tracks, causing him to shed tears.

He wrote: “Lewis has been a fan for some time now, but I don’t enjoy discussing such matters. However, I’m finding it particularly difficult at the moment. Six months ago, I lost my brother. I’m trying to stay strong.

Dropped off my precious little ones this morning, and when ‘Someone You Loved’ came on, it struck a chord like never before. The melody resonated with me in an entirely new way, and I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed. Before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face.

In my own words, I realized: ‘I hadn’t known how much I yearned for this. Perhaps I did, unconsciously. It compelled me to halt the car and continue singing and weeping. Thank you for providing solace. Truly, thank you. You aided me in standing tall once more. X.’

Sean’s remark received numerous encouraging responses from fellow Instagram users, who also opened up about their own experiences with sorrow and distress.

Back in 1988, Sean initially gained recognition for his role as Tegs Ratcliffe on Grange Hill. Four days after his brother’s demise on January 11, he announced the sad news.

On Instagram, Sean posted a video of photos depicting his sibling over time and wrote: “I’ve had a hard time finding the right words or selecting the pictures for this, because it signifies the reality that our cherished brother Darren Maguire has sadly passed away on January 11th.

He peacefully departed with his loved ones by his side. He was an extraordinary individual, a dear friend, a devoted son, a cherished sibling, and an exceptional parent.

‘He was so loved by everyone that knew him. I’m still in so much shock.

I find it hard to put together words, but it seems the world has lost one of its most cherished individuals, and I have lost my dearest friend. We adore you, Darren, and our affection for you will never wane. Go now and bring laughter and joy to heaven.

For approximately a year, Sean took on the character of Aidan, a teenager struggling with substance abuse, within the soap opera, EastEnders.

In 1993, Sean departed from the Square following a challenging eleven months marked by homelessness, despair, and depression for his character. During this time, he made an emotional journey back to Ireland in search of reconciliation with his family.

Following his departure from Albert Square, he launched his pop career, amassing eight top 30 singles, with Good Day reaching a noteworthy position of number 12 on the UK singles chart.

Since then, he’s been thriving in his U.S. career, transitioning from smaller parts to a regular role in the fantasy series “Once Upon A Time.

Previously, he graced our screens on the hit series Death in Paradise, which celebrated its 100th episode last year. Remarkably, this was thirteen years since his debut appearance in the very first episode of the show.

In the year 2000, Sean relocated to California and eventually obtained U.S. citizenship, allowing him to participate in the presidential election.
