EastEnders to feature popular Strictly Come Dancing star in upcoming Walford Pride storyline

Strictly Come Dancing favourite La Voix is set to make a cameo in EastEnders.

The singer and performer first gained recognition on the reality shows Queens for the Night and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where she was a finalist. Last year, she became even more well-known when she partnered with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec on a popular dance competition.

Despite breaking a foot and having to pull out of the competition, La Voix still got to perform at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom. She also represented the UK as the spokesperson for Eurovision earlier this year.

TopMob has confirmed she’ll be making a guest appearance on a BBC soap opera next month. This follows a booking to perform at a Pride event held at The Prince Albert.

Pride in London happens on July 4th, and La Voix will be performing around the same time in Albert Square – their performance will likely broadcast that same week.

Walford has marked its LGBTQ+ community before. Back in 2019, there was a well-received episode featuring an event organized by Kathy Beale (played by Gillian Taylforth).

Bernie Taylor celebrated her first Pride event with her family’s support, while Callum Highway struggled to come to terms with his feelings about who he is. The episode ended with a shocking act of violence: Callum’s brother, Stuart, attacked Ben Mitchell after discovering their relationship.

The host of The Voice, La Voix, will be making an appearance in a soap opera, and actress Lacey Turner, known for her role on EastEnders, is becoming a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.

Lacey Turner, known for her role as Stacey Slater, was the first celebrity announced for the upcoming 24th season of the show. This season will be hosted by a new presenting team: Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe.

Turner expressed her excitement about joining the cast of Strictly Come Dancing this year, saying she’s thrilled to be learning to dance and competing on the show.

I’m so excited to be participating this year instead of watching from home! I can’t wait to meet everyone and learn something new.

She’ll be competing with Dani Dyer, who’s known as a TV presenter, actress, and star of Love Island, as well as singer and actress Delta Goodrem, famous for her role on Neighbours.

The celebrity contestants will be dancing with professional dancers including Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Aljaž Škorjanec, Jowita Przystał, Nancy Xu, Kai Widdrington, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola, Alexis Warr, and Julian Caillon. More professional dancers will be revealed soon.
