Eddie Murphy’s Son & Martin Lawrence’s Daughter Welcome First Baby

The Murphy-Lawrence family is expanding.

Eddie Murphy announced that his son, Eric, and Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, recently had a baby girl named Ari Skye.

Eddie shared with TopMob News at the American Film Institute awards on April 18th that his friends recently welcomed a baby girl named Ari Skye, born either two or one week prior to the event.

As for any parenting advice the 65-year-old has for the couple’s next chapter?

He explained that giving advice isn’t as effective as leading by example. Children don’t necessarily do what you tell them to do; they do what they see you doing. They learn by observing your behavior.

He said people don’t really listen to what you say, they pay attention to your actions. Because of that, he doesn’t offer much advice.

The Emmy-winning actor, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 51st annual event on Netflix May 31st, doesn’t usually give advice to his ten children. However, he emphasized that being a good father is his greatest accomplishment, even more important than his career successes.

“My legacy to me isn’t my work,” he shared. “My legacy to me is my children. So, that’s my legacy.”

He expressed his gratitude for the award, saying it meant a lot after dedicating so much of his life to filmmaking. He was happy to be recognized for simply doing what he loves.

Jasmin, age 30, and Eric, 36, recently shared the happy news that they are expecting their first child. This comes about eight months after their private wedding.

I was so touched to see Eric and Jasmin share such a beautiful moment online! They posted a sweet black-and-white photo on Instagram a few weeks ago – Eric lovingly cradling Jasmin’s baby bump – and captioned it with a heartfelt ‘Thank you, Jesus, for the greatest gift.’ It really captures the joy and gratitude they’re feeling as they prepare to welcome their little one. It’s a lovely reminder to appreciate life’s precious gifts, isn’t it?

Okay, so you will NOT believe this! Martin – seriously, the best dad ever, with three amazing daughters – just found out he’s going to be a grandpa! He was absolutely over the moon, practically bouncing off the walls with happiness. I mean, he’s always been a family man, and this news just completely made his year! It’s the most wonderful thing, honestly.

The comedian shared on Instagram how happy they are to begin the day, expressing that they’re filled with love and gratitude after finding out they’re going to be a grandparent for the first time!

The 61-year-old shared their joy, saying watching Jasmin and Eric become parents is incredibly meaningful. They emphasized the importance of family, calling this moment a true blessing and welcoming the new baby as the start of a new generation.

Eddie Murphy has a large family! He shares son Eric with Paulette McNeely, and has five children – Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola, and Bella – with his ex-wife, Nicole Murphy. He also has Christian with Tamara Hood, Angel with Mel B, and Izzy and Max with his current wife, Paige Butcher.
