The Elden Ring: Nightreign expansion, The Forsaken Hollows, will be available on December 4th. Players can expect a difficult experience, staying true to the challenging nature of both Elden Ring and Nightreign, but it won’t be overwhelmingly so.
Junya Ishizaki, the game director, explained to TopMob that FromSoftware aimed to make the expansion accessible to newcomers, avoiding excessive difficulty. That said, it won’t be an easy ride – players should still expect a challenge.
The developer explained that The Forsaken Hollows is a bit more challenging, but still offers a reasonable level of difficulty for players.
As a player, what I really hope for in the DLC is that it captures that same sense of mystery and discovery I felt when I first started playing Nightreign. Basically, I want to feel like there’s still stuff to learn and figure out, even after spending tons of hours with the main game. That’s what the team is aiming for – a fresh experience that feels familiar but still keeps you guessing, according to Ishizaki.

The new paid expansion will be available on December 4th, and possibly as early as December 3rd depending on your location and gaming platform. For specific launch times, please see details for The Forsaken Hollows.

What is The Forsaken Hollows?
The Forsaken Hollows is an expansion pack for Nightreign, a cooperative action game made by From Software. This expansion introduces new boss battles and a dynamic map feature called “Shifting Earth,” which dramatically alters the game world. Players will also encounter two new playable characters, called Nightfarers, and discover new locations within the Limveld area.
The Forsaken Hollows is available in the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. All other players can purchase it separately for $15.
