Elmo Calls Out Taylor Swift Over Having a Rock in “Opalite” Video

Elmo may not host Taylor Swift on Sesame Street anytime soon.

The famous character spoke about how he was feeling shortly after the release of the singer’s “Opalite” music video on February 2nd.

When Taylor starred in the music video as the Lonely Girl—a character who finds companionship in a rock until she meets the Lonely Boy—Elmo had a strong emotional reaction.

Taylor Swift, jokingly referred to as perpetually youthful, responded to a post from Elmo on February 6th, expressing her disbelief and amusement.

Elmo’s recent tweet referenced an old disagreement with Rocco, a friend of Zoe, Elmo’s best friend. Back in 2022, a video showed Elmo getting upset because it seemed like Zoe valued her friendship with Rocco more than with him. Although Elmo and Zoe later resolved their issues, Elmo stated he didn’t want to discuss Rocco any further.

It’s still unclear how things stand between him and the singer of “Fate of Ophelia” after their difficult cameo appearance, as she hasn’t responded to him yet.

Rocco was just one of several famous faces in Taylor Swift’s newest music video. The video brought back a lot of familiar stars – including Domhnall Gleeson, Jodie Turner Smith, Greta Lee, Lewis Capaldi, and Cillian Murphy – all of whom had previously appeared with Taylor on The Graham Norton Show around the time her album Life of a Showgirl came out last October.

Plus, talk show host Graham Norton—already invited to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding—also made an appearance in the video. Taylor revealed the whole concept actually started during a casual conversation she had with the group while relaxing on the couch.

Specifically, the former star of The Vow joked about how many celebrities had been asked to appear in Taylor Swift’s music videos – a group he hadn’t been included in at that point.

Taylor recalled feeling incredibly fortunate to be working with the people she was paired with, explaining that she’d long admired their work. She shared that during a conversation on air, Domhnall Gleeson playfully expressed interest in appearing in one of her music videos, noting he’s Irish and the comment was meant as a joke.

Taylor wasn’t kidding when she said a sudden idea hit her right then and there during the interview.

She explained that she imagined it would be amazing if everyone who was on The Graham Norton Show that night – including Graham himself – could participate. She described it as a voluntary, adult version of a school group project. She was thrilled that everyone from the show put in the effort to travel back to the 90s and help with the video.

As for the group, the 36-year-old couldn’t have asked for a more bejeweled experience.

She said she had an unexpectedly amazing time. She not only met new people but also explored creative ideas and developed a unique style. Bringing this story and its characters to life was incredibly exciting for her.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from left.)

He assured Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. He wanted to make that clear.

In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the part by influencing anyone else’s chances, as he shared on Instagram.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that she considered Danny Masterson, of “That ’70s Show” fame, to be the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a very rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset during his 2014 appearance on The Talk because she had misspoken his name.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ Her response was sharp: ‘Listen, don’t underestimate me, because I will completely overwhelm you.’ She finished by saying, ‘You have no idea what you’re up against.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed her current feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining that Bure once declined to pose for a photo with her at a red carpet event. Soon after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she had unintentionally hurt Siwa’s feelings when she was younger and expressing her regret for not taking the picture. She told Siwa, “I’m so sorry!”

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday films, she stated it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art of her band, Hole, for a promotional photo without proper credit. Olivia responded with a simple, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, “Olivia – you’re welcome. My favorite florist is in Notting Hill, London! DM me for details! I look forward to reading your note [winking face emoji].”

While on Watch What Happens Live, the Happy Days actor explained the reason for his difficult relationship with the Forrest Gump star while filming the 1989 movie Turner & Hooch.

I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to go home, saying I had everything I needed.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers that famous line from Lauren during the season three premiere. The drama between them started when Heidi began dating her future husband, Spencer Pratt, and really exploded when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and Jason Wahler making a sex tape.

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced for 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson remained part of the cast.

Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he did talk to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations on behalf of others involved with the franchise. He explained he was the one who spoke out, which he acknowledges was unprofessional and a mistake.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a dancer and competition during their concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared a video on Instagram explaining that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, and said it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and subsequently made comments about her co-star that caused concern.

During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.

She was deeply upset, explaining she was heartbroken about something. They had talked about it all week, and she felt it didn’t align with her memory of what happened. She just found the whole situation really disturbing.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the shared experience we had. While it started as a professional project, it became deeply personal over the years. I’m hoping that the strong bond created during that time will outweigh any recent disagreements. Being part of something special and connecting with people for so long was a real privilege.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards that year, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience, “Madonna, best live act? That’s ridiculous!” and questioned her use of lip-syncing, suggesting performers who don’t sing live should face serious consequences, especially considering the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained her decision by saying she didn’t believe she had been given strong enough storylines to deserve a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone shows you their true colors, you should believe it,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major news story. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what started the argument with Nicki.

Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.

The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had seemingly liked, then unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting. Nicki has stated she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.

Cardi B explained she turned down a potentially hugely profitable Bruno Mars tour because she wanted to be with her daughter. She emphasized how much she loves her daughter and considers herself a dedicated mother. She also responded to criticism about where she encountered another artist, saying opportunities like that don’t come around often, and she wasn’t going to wait for another chance encounter in a public place.

I remember when the drama between Kanye and Taylor first began back in 2009 – it was shocking when he interrupted her VMA acceptance speech! They actually seemed to work things out and even became friends for a while, which was great to see. But sadly, things fell apart again in 2026 after Kanye released his song ‘Famous,’ where he mentioned Taylor by name, and it just wasn’t the same after that.

Just before the Grammy Awards in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about various singers, and when asked about Jennifer, she famously said, “I don’t know her.”
