Lucien Laviscount, who plays Alfie on Emily in Paris, says the fifth season will start with a big surprise. He also hinted that Emily (Lily Collins) will show a jealous side in the new episodes.
Lucien Laviscount was stunned after watching the first episode of Emily in Paris season 5, according to an interview with Us Weekly. Even though he’s in the show and knew what was coming, he needed a couple of days to fully take it all in. He explained, “I don’t want to give away too much, but when I received the first episode – with all the security measures in place – it took me two or three days to process everything.”
He admitted watching everything happen was incredibly intense. Despite the first episode being chaotic, he believes it was essential, as it perfectly laid the groundwork for the entire season. “The first episode packs a lot in to set up everything that follows, and it really surprised both me and Alfie,” he said.
Laviscount hinted at unexpected twists in the ongoing love story between Emily, Alfie, and Gabriel. Even though Alfie and Gabriel haven’t found success with Emily – she’s currently with Marcello – Laviscount suggests his character still has a chance. Viewers shouldn’t assume he’s out of the picture.
He revealed that Alfie is still a contender and hinted that Emily might show her jealous side now that his character is seeing someone new. He suggested it would be fun to watch her reaction and see who she’s jealous of. Laviscount also strongly implied that a romance is developing for Alfie, saying he can’t say much about Alfie’s new love interest in season 4, but believes Alfie will find love this season.
Emily in Paris season 5 will be released on December 18, 2025, on Netflix.
