Emmerdale airs distressing Bear Wolf scenes as new Ray Walters theory emerges in early ITVX release

Detective Sergeant Walsh (Amanda Ryan) has figured out a new angle on the human trafficking scheme involving Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) in Emmerdale, and it doesn’t look good for Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards).

Bear has had a really difficult time lately. After escaping from the farm where he was held captive and tragically killing Ray, he turned himself in to the police. He was struggling with complex emotions – a kind of loyalty to his captor – and couldn’t process that Ray had harmed him.

Paddy Dingle was hoping to get his father’s sentence reduced by demonstrating he wasn’t mentally stable when he committed the crime. While Walsh acknowledged his father’s struggles, after a brief stay in a mental health facility, Bear left and was returned to police custody.

Paddy felt optimistic this week after new evidence surfaced, potentially proving Bear’s innocence. Bear recalled unique license plate numbers from a car he’d been made to wash after it had blood on it.

Kammy Hadiq (also known as Shebz Miah) found out the car had been returned to a storage unit in Hotten. The villagers quickly went to the unit and were able to open it with the key Paddy had luckily discovered a few days earlier.

Detective Sergeant Walsh was among the first to arrive and estimated it would take several days to examine the new evidence and decide if it could be used in the investigation.

Paddy did his best to remain optimistic about the situation, but he didn’t realize things were quickly falling apart during the police questioning.

Bear was being questioned further, and Walsh pressed him on how he’d learned private details about Ray and Celia’s lives. Although his lawyer advised him he didn’t need to respond, Bear was determined to tell the truth.

Bear wasn’t prepared for the next shock. Walsh explained that they’d found bank statements in the apartment, all under Bear’s name. Trying to understand how this could be, Bear remembered Ray promising to take care of him while he was away.

This led Walsh to believe Bear was Ray’s accomplice, and had killed him to take over the criminal operation.

Has Bear’s careless admission landed him in even more trouble?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
