Adam Scott’s outie has kids that keep him humble.
Despite a successful career with popular shows like *Parks & Recreation* and *Party Down*, actor James Marsden’s children, 18-year-old Graham and 6-year-old Frankie, hadn’t watched anything he’d been in until his current Apple TV+ series. He shares his children with his wife, Naomi Scott.
Adam shared with Zuri Hall on the red carpet at the 2025 Emmy Awards, hosted by Nate Bargatze, that his family was finally watching something he was in-and they were enjoying it. He told Live From TopMob: 2025 Emmys that it felt good to have their attention and approval.
He said with a grin, “While I wouldn’t call them fans just yet, they’re definitely watching, and that’s a win for me.”
Adam is nominated for two awards at the ceremony – one for acting and one as an executive producer. While he appreciates his kids watching the show, he’s surprised they aren’t more enthusiastic fans.
He explained that people have watched shows like *The Office* and *Brooklyn Nine Nine*, but haven’t given his own show a chance, likely because he’s a part of the cast.
On his children’s ability to keep him humble, he added, “That’s what they’re there for.”
Not only did Adam’s children enjoy the second season of the show, but the Television Academy loved it too, giving the series a total of 23 nominations. These included nominations for Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, and Patricia Arquette. However, Adam acknowledged that there’s always uncertainty about how audiences will react.
We just focus on creating the highest quality show possible,” he said. “It’s definitely a challenging production, but that’s what makes it enjoyable for us.
Adam admitted they weren’t sure if anyone would even like it, or if it would be successful. He added that the fact that people are watching and enjoying it is amazing – a wonderful bonus on top of everything else.
