EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert – the legend
We readily admit we love Elvis, and his lasting fame likely explains the abundance of Elvis impersonators – though it’s curious that most portray him during his later, heavier years in Vegas, rather than his youthful, heartthrob prime. Now, after director Baz Luhrmann gave us his Elvis biopic featuring a remarkable performance by Austin Butler (Oscar nominated, no less), he’s released a cleverly named trailer: EPiC Elvis Presley In Concert.
What’s in the EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert trailer?
Experience Elvis like never before in this new film by Baz Luhrmann, featuring newly discovered footage from his iconic Las Vegas performances. The film combines his music with the story of his life.
Elvis career….
Elvis Presley’s career had its ups and downs. He began as a singer, but then starred in a series of increasingly poor musical films, largely due to the influence of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker – who wasn’t actually a colonel and prioritized his own profits over Elvis’s well-being. A truly insightful film about his life is overdue. However, his 1968 comeback special is still considered one of the greatest music shows ever broadcast, and the following year he began his legendary residency in Las Vegas. This new documentary looks promising, and it would have been perfect if the trailer had ended with Elvis saying his famous, ‘Thank you very much!’
ONE WEEK IMAX EXCLUSIVE STARTING 20th FEBRUARY and IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE 27th FEBRUARY.
