Following more than ten years of matrimony, Ashlee Simpson was finally able to reveal a unique aspect of her being to Evan Ross.
On August 30, the artist known for “Pieces of Me” shared an interesting fact – her husband hadn’t witnessed her performing live until their 11th wedding anniversary. This special moment took place during her “I Am Me” concert in Las Vegas, where he was part of the audience.
At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in New York on September 7, she shared with TopMob News that it was particularly exciting for her because Evan had never witnessed her performing live before. Despite having performed together at shows, this was the first time he got to see her in action.
How did Evan, who has two children – Jagger Snow Ross, 9, and Ziggy Blu Ross, 3, together with Ashlee – respond to the event?
Ashlee, aged 40, mentioned that he expressed something along the lines of, “Wow, you’re incredible,” to which she responded. She felt deeply moved by this and described it as one of the sweetest gestures she had ever witnessed.
Besides allowing Evan to witness an impressive performance, the singer, who is also a mother to Bronx Mowgli Wentz, 16 (son of ex-husband Pete Wentz), has mentioned that her Vegas shows have provided an additional advantage as well.
In a moment, her kids find her appealing, she told TopMob. It’s truly enjoyable, she added, to take the stage and perform songs I haven’t played in ages. What’s more, experiencing the sensation of playing them again resonates with my audience in an equally amazing way.
