When Bethesda announced another version of Skyrim late last year, fans weren’t too shocked. The popular Elder Scrolls game received an updated edition for the Switch 2 right before the holidays. However, Bethesda had even bigger plans for the Switch 2. During the February 5th Nintendo Direct presentation, they revealed that several more games are being developed for the console and will be released in 2026.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is shaping up to be even better than the original, especially for fans of action-adventure and fast-paced role-playing games. While the re-release of Skyrim on the new console might not seem like a huge deal – it’s been available on Switch for a while – the recent announcement of several other Bethesda games coming this year is exciting. Nintendo fans will have access to more classic RPGs than many expected. Here’s a list of all the Bethesda Studios games confirmed to be released on the Switch 2 by the end of 2026. This list focuses specifically on new versions for the Switch 2, so games that work with the console through backwards compatibility aren’t included.
4) The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim – Anniversary Edition

Release Date: December 5th, 2025
Planning another playthrough of Skyrim? The Switch 2 version is now available! If you already own the Anniversary Edition on Switch, you can upgrade for free. Otherwise, the game will cost $59.99.
This new version is essentially the Skyrim Anniversary Edition, but it takes advantage of the Switch 2’s improved hardware to offer updated graphics, faster loading, and better overall performance.
3) Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition

Release Date: February 24th
The popular game Fallout 4 is coming to the new Switch 2! This version includes the original game, all six official expansions, and a lot of extra content created by the community. It’s already available on other consoles, but this marks the first time Fallout 4 will be playable on a Nintendo Switch system – unlike Skyrim which was previously released on Switch.
The Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition will be released on the new Switch 2 console on February 24th, and you can pre-order it now. While it doesn’t have any special features just for the Switch 2, it’s the first time fans can play this popular Bethesda game on any Nintendo Switch system.
2) Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Release Date: May 12th
Fans have been asking for this Bethesda adventure game on the Switch 2 for a while! Indiana Jones and the Great Circle first came out in 2024 as something only Xbox owners could play, and then it became available on PS5 in 2025. Now, Switch 2 players can join the adventure, too. Based on how well Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition runs, I expect this game will perform well on the Switch 2 as well.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to the new Switch 2 on May 12th, and you can pre-order it now for $69.99. The Nintendo eShop says the game will include motion controls, making the iconic whip-cracking action even more realistic. The game’s release on Switch 2 also lines up with the launch of its first big expansion, The Order of Giants, which will also be available for the new console.
1) The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

Release Date: 2026 TBD
One of the biggest surprises in the lineup for the Switch 2 is likely Oblivion Remastered. While the game had some technical problems when it first came out last year, it’s still a beautiful and fun update to the classic original. It will be joining Skyrim as a playable title on the Switch 2, though we don’t have a release date yet.
During February’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced that Oblivion Remastered is coming to the Switch. While there’s no specific release date yet – just “later this year” – this will be the first time players can experience the world of Cyrodiil on a Switch console. I might just have to buy it again to keep it alongside my Skyrim save data!
Besides a few older Bethesda games like The Elder Scrolls: Blades and some DOOM titles that work with the Switch 2 through backwards compatibility, these four new games are the first specifically made for the system by Bethesda. This raises the question: could Elder Scrolls 6 be available when the Switch 2 launches? We’ll have to wait and see – likely a long time – to find out.
Are you planning to buy any of these games when they come out for the new Switch this year? Share your thoughts in the comments and join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
