Every Confirmed Avengers: Doomsday Character Ranked By Threat Level

Many characters are confirmed to be in Avengers: Doomsday, and we’ve ranked them based on how dangerous they are. While all the announced characters are fan favorites, they aren’t all equally powerful. Here’s a list of who’s been confirmed so far, ordered from weakest to strongest.

In Avengers: Doomsday, all of these characters will battle Doctor Doom, who is the film’s primary villain and likely a greater challenge than anyone else on this list. Each superhero brings unique abilities, skills, and resources to the fight, and these factors are considered when evaluating how well they can stand against Doom.

27) Yelena Belova

Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova has quickly become a fan favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite being a highly trained Black Widow, she’s one of the least intimidating characters in Doomsday. While skilled and powerful, she doesn’t have any special powers or superhuman abilities.

26) M’Baku

As a Wakandan, I can tell you M’Baku is an incredibly powerful leader and physically imposing, but at the end of the day, he’s still just a man. He has all the resources of Wakanda at his disposal, of course, but he’s not reckless – he wouldn’t risk anything that could harm our nation. He’s a formidable fighter, but I don’t expect to see him personally jumping into a brawl with someone like Doom. He’ll protect Wakanda strategically, not necessarily by being on the front lines.

25) Joaquín Torres/Falcon

Joaquín Torres has taken on the role of Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he’s already shown he’s a capable fighter in Captain America: Brave New World. Although he’s not quite as strong a combatant as Sam Wilson was, his wings give him a significant advantage. Still, they likely wouldn’t pose much of a challenge for Doom, and without them, Joaquín is just an ordinary soldier.

24) Remy LeBeau/Gambit

Channing Tatum’s portrayal of Gambit doesn’t seem very intimidating. The comic book version and his appearances in other X-Men stories show a powerful character, but in Deadpool & Wolverine, he doesn’t appear to be a major threat. He has strong abilities, but the trailers mostly show him using them to power up playing cards. While Doomsday might see him as a challenge, it looks like Gambit will likely be used for comic relief again.

23) Ava Starr/Ghost

Ghost is a particularly interesting member of the Thunderbolts because of her unusual ability: she can pass through solid objects like walls. This power is great for rescue missions and quick escapes, almost like teleportation, but it doesn’t make her a powerful fighter. She’s a valuable asset in many situations, but she’s not ideally suited for direct battles.

22) Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian

Red Guardian appears comical, but as a super soldier, he’s surprisingly dangerous, ranking him higher in threat level than many others. However, compared to other super soldiers in the story, he’s likely the least powerful. His age and past experiences mean his abilities aren’t as sharp. Though unpredictable, he’s more foolish than truly malicious, which doesn’t make him a significant threat.

21) Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier

Bucky Barnes is a highly skilled fighter and was once a deadly assassin. However, his recent performances, like in Thunderbolts, suggest he’s not on the same level as the most powerful characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means he’d likely struggle against a formidable opponent like Doctor Doom and wouldn’t be a top choice to defeat him.

20) Sam Wilson/Captain America

As the leader of the Avengers and Captain America, Sam Wilson carries significant weight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s a highly capable fighter, proven by his ability to battle even the Hulk, as seen in the Brave New World storyline. Despite his skills and leadership, Sam remains relatively less powerful compared to many other MCU heroes. Because he doesn’t have the super-soldier serum, he’s ultimately just a human without his advanced equipment.

19) John Walker/U.S. Agent

John Walker is a powerful super-soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, initially selected to replace Captain America. His tendency towards villainous behavior makes him particularly dangerous, as he often struggles to work well with others. Despite his strength, super-soldiers aren’t the most powerful beings in the MCU, which is why he doesn’t rank higher.

18) Steve Rogers

Steve Rogers returns as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday. He was the most skilled super-soldier and master of the shield in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While his abilities and experience surpass those of many other heroes, even that isn’t enough to defeat a powerful villain like Doom.

17) Mystique

Mystique is a capable fighter, but her real power lies in her ability to transform into anyone. This skill could be a major advantage against Doom, though she’d be vulnerable if her disguise is discovered.

16) Nightcrawler

As a huge fan of superhero abilities, I’ve always been fascinated by teleportation, and Nightcrawler’s is seriously impressive. It’s a game-changer for any team he’s on, honestly even more so than Ghost’s. But he’s not just a teleporter – he’s a seriously skilled fighter too, wielding swords and with a really useful prehensile tail. He can definitely hold his own in a brawl, but if things get too hairy, he just bamf’s away! It’s a great combination of power and practicality.

15) Ben Grimm/The Thing

The Thing is remarkably strong, but he’s likely the least powerful member of the Fantastic Four. However, raw strength isn’t enough to defeat enemies like Doctor Doom or the threats that come from across the multiverse – simply hitting hard or throwing objects won’t be effective.

14) Johnny Storm/The Human Torch

Johnny Storm is a significant force in the Doomsday cast thanks to his fire powers, flight, and quick thinking. Though he’s not the most brilliant, physically strong, or speedy hero, his combined abilities make him a well-rounded and effective fighter.

13) Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi is currently the most skilled martial artist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Ten Rings are among its most powerful weapons. Together, this makes him a formidable opponent. Although he’d struggle against someone like Doctor Doom without the Rings, he’s incredibly difficult to defeat in a hand-to-hand fight.

12) Hank McCoy/Beast

Beast is exceptionally strong, easily overpowering ordinary people and weaker villains. But his greatest strength isn’t his physical power—it’s his intelligence. He’s one of the smartest people in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, allowing him to quickly assess dangers and devise winning strategies.

11) Cyclops

Cyclops leads the X-Men, and his skills as a leader, combined with the team’s abilities, allow them to accomplish a lot. Even without the team, Cyclops is a powerful individual. His ability to shoot powerful beams from his eyes makes him a formidable opponent, capable of destroying buildings with a single blast.

10) Namor

Namor is a skilled fighter thanks to his strength and ability to fly. But what really makes him dangerous is that he rules the kingdom of Talokan, giving him access to vast armies and allowing him to act solely in his own self-interest.

9) Shuri

Shuri is a remarkably talented fighter with all the abilities of a Black Panther. Beyond that, she’s considered the most intelligent person on Earth-616, and combined with Wakanda’s advanced technology, she’s a formidable force.

8) Scott Lang/Ant-Man

Scott Lang has become a significantly more powerful hero as Ant-Man throughout his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only is he much stronger with his size-changing abilities – especially when he grows giant – but his experience with the Quantum Realm gives him a unique advantage. He’s even defeated Kang, suggesting he’s well-prepared to face any challenge, including Doctor Doom.

7) Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic

Reed Richards is a skilled fighter because he can stretch and change his body. But his intelligence is his greatest strength – he’s almost certain to be the smartest person in the room.

6) Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman

Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, is arguably the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four. Her ability to create force fields and turn invisible gives her a wide range of combat options. She demonstrated her immense power by single-handedly moving Galactus, showcasing just how dangerous she can be.

5) Magneto

As a huge fan, I’m really excited (and a little worried!) about Magneto showing up in Doomsday. He’s seriously one of the most powerful mutants out there, and that’s going to make things tough for everyone. He’s done some amazing things with magnetism, and honestly, knowing his past, you never know where his loyalties will lie when facing off against Doom. He could really shake things up!

4) Thor

Thor is consistently one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that will likely remain true in Doomsday. With his incredible strength, ability to fly, resistance to damage, and control over lightning, he’s nearly unbeatable, and he’d likely be able to defeat Doom in a direct confrontation.

3) Bob/Sentry

Though Sentry recently appeared in Thunderbolts, he’s quickly established himself as one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He possesses incredible strength – comparable to Superman – and can banish opponents to the Void with almost no delay. As a result, he’s undoubtedly the strongest member of the New Avengers.

2) Charles Xavier/Professor X

Charles Xavier is a remarkably powerful mutant, and he’s expected to remain so in the upcoming story, Doomsday. His ability to read and influence Doctor Doom’s mind makes him a uniquely dangerous opponent, and that’s only a small part of his potential.

1) Loki

Loki is now the most powerful being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having become a god overseeing the entire multiverse. This gives him the potential to obliterate entire universes with ease, making him likely the biggest threat to Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.
