What makes the Jurassic World films exciting, including Jurassic World Rebirth, is the incredible variety of dinosaurs. This new installment features 11 different dinosaur types – both realistic and genetically modified creations. Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the movie introduces a fresh cast of human characters alongside returning dinosaurs and entirely new species, all designed to raise the stakes. Ultimately, the seventh film in the series demonstrates that humanity continues to make the same mistakes, playing with forces they don’t fully understand.
The movie features eleven dinosaurs, and here’s a ranking of those in Jurassic World Rebirth from most to least dangerous.
11) Aquilops

The Aquilops is easily the gentlest and most harmless dinosaur in Jurassic World Rebirth. Resembling a miniature Triceratops, it’s one of the few dinosaurs in the series that hasn’t been genetically modified. In the film, Ruben’s daughter, Isabella, even takes the dinosaur in as a pet and names her Delores, demonstrating that not all dinosaurs in the Jurassic World universe are dangerous.
10) Ankylosaurus

The Ankylosaurus is a gentle dinosaur and poses no real threat to people. It makes a brief appearance in Jurassic World Rebirth when it briefly hinders Martin Krebs’ escape from the island. While it’s been featured in multiple films, the Ankylosaurus had a significant role only in the animated series Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory, where a character named Ben formed a close bond with one he called Bumpy.
9) Titanosaurus

When Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) and her team reach the island, one of their main goals is to collect DNA from a Titanosaurus – one of three dinosaur species they’re targeting. This dinosaur looks a lot like the Brachiosaurus first seen in the original Jurassic Park, standing tall in a large field. Notably, the Titanosaurus is one of the most gentle creatures on the island and proved to be the easiest to get a DNA sample from in the new movie. This marks the first time this dinosaur has appeared in any of the Jurassic Park films.
8) Dilophosaurus

The Dilophosaurus is a dangerous dinosaur known for its unsettling appearance, especially right before it attacks. It first appeared in the original Jurassic Park, where it fatally attacked Dennis Nedry after he attempted to steal dinosaur embryos. The dinosaur famously spread a colorful frill and spat venom at Nedry before attacking him. It reappeared in Jurassic World Dominion and again in Jurassic World Rebirth, marking its third on-screen appearance. In its latest appearance, it targeted a young girl whose family was stranded on Site C. However, the Dilophosaurus has a limited striking range, needing to be within 20 feet of its target to attack.
7) Velociraptor

Velociraptors are fan favorites in the Jurassic World movies, so it wasn’t surprising to see them return in Jurassic World Rebirth. However, in this installment, they didn’t play a significant role in the story. A potential confrontation with the raptors turned out to be a false alarm, leading to a much more dangerous dinosaur. When the raptors did appear, they were quickly killed by a Mutadon, making them more a demonstration of the increasing threats than actual antagonists themselves.
6) Quetzalcoatlus

The Quetzalcoatlus was heavily featured in trailers for Jurassic World Rebirth. In the movie, this large flying dinosaur attacks the main characters while they attempt to collect DNA from its eggs and continues to be a persistent threat throughout the story. It previously appeared in Jurassic World Dominion. Despite being dangerous, the team needs to obtain the Quetzalcoatlus’s DNA in hopes of saving the species.
5) Mosasaurus

The Mosasaurus has been featured in every Jurassic World film so far. This massive aquatic creature famously killed a visitor at the park in the first Jurassic World movie, and was later seen heading out to sea. It also appeared in both Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion. Now, the characters need its DNA, making it the most dangerous dinosaur to obtain – a seemingly impossible task until it attacks their boat, along with three Spinosaurus.
4) Spinosaurus

Along with the Quetzalcoatlus, the trailers highlighted the Spinosaurus, a swimming dinosaur that attacks a boat in the film. These creatures first appeared in Jurassic Park III, where they posed a major threat to Alan Grant and his team. This is their first on-screen appearance since that movie, and they’re even more dangerous in Jurassic World Rebirth. There are three Spinosaurus in this film—Jurassic Park III only featured one—and they hunt as a pack, making them a greater threat to anyone in the water.
3) Tyrannosaurus Rex

As a huge fan of the Jurassic World movies, I always get excited when the T-Rex shows up – it’s just the most recognizable dinosaur in the whole franchise, and it’s seriously intimidating, often taking on even bigger dinosaurs! Now, about the T-Rex in Jurassic World Rebirth… I don’t think it’s the same one as Rexy from the earlier films. There’s no way Rexy could have made it to that new island. But honestly, this new T-Rex is still a force to be reckoned with – very few dinosaurs could actually survive a fight with it. The scientists on the island even thought it was more dangerous than Rexy, which is saying something!
2) Mutadons

Okay, so in Jurassic World Rebirth, there’s this new raptor called the Mutadon, and honestly, it was a brilliant misdirect. Everyone was bracing for a classic Velociraptor when these claws started coming through the water, but instead, we got this totally messed up, winged creature! Basically, imagine a Velociraptor, but with pterosaur-like wings – so you’ve got that same smart, deadly hunter, only now it can fly. It makes them incredibly dangerous, easily one of the scariest dinosaurs in the movie, and they’re the creatures our heroes are desperately trying to outrun during the big finale.
1) Distortus Rex

Each Jurassic World film introduces a brand-new, and even more dangerous, dinosaur. Despite the deadly consequences and numerous deaths caused by genetic tampering, the characters never seem to learn. In Jurassic World Rebirth, this new creation is the Distortus Rex (D-Rex), a creature resembling the Rancor from Star Wars. It proves to be a greater threat than any dinosaur seen before, earning it the label of “the worst of the worst.”
