Every Gen V Character Who Will Be in The Boys Season 5, Ranked by Importance

Season 5 of The Boys has a lot of storylines to wrap up. The biggest issue is Homelander, the incredibly powerful Supe who now effectively runs the U.S. government and is building his own team. But he’s not the only player – Billy Butcher is out there somewhere with the ability to take down Supes, and Starlight is likely determined to rescue Hughie and their friends from prison.

Knowing Homelander, he’s definitely keeping tabs on The Boys, probably making sure they stay put until he decides what to do with them. But what he doesn’t realize is that Starlight is busy building an army of her own, and she’s currently at Godolkin University recruiting new heroes. It got me thinking about all the characters from Gen V who are likely to show up in Season 5 of The Boys, so I’ve put together a list, ranking them by how important I think they’ll be to the story.

6) Emma Meyer

Okay, so Season 2 of Gen V really lets Emma Meyer shine – she’s practically channeling Starlight as she rallies a group of students to stir things up on campus. But things are getting seriously dangerous. These aren’t the petty squabbles from last season; we’re talking about enemies who aren’t afraid to use force. Emma’s got a big problem, and honestly, her best bet is figuring out how to permanently control her powers. I’m talking a full-on showdown, maybe even inside Vought Tower. It’s a race against time, and the stakes are way higher this season.

5) Jordan Li

Jordan Li is arguably the second most powerful member of the Gen V team, after Marie Moreau. They’re incredibly strong and can unleash powerful energy blasts capable of overpowering even the toughest Supes. However, their storyline feels limited in the final season of The Boys due to the breakup with Marie. If they were still together, Jordan would likely be ranked much higher than fifth.

4) Annabeth Moreau

Annabeth Moreau, Marie’s sister who was previously estranged, is the newest addition to the Gen V team when they return to Elmira. She quickly reveals she also has Compound V in her system, giving her the ability to see the future. This skill could be a major asset, given the high stakes in The Boys.

3) Sam Riordan

In Season 4 of The Boys, Homelander starts using a couple of new, young Supes, including Sam Riordan, to carry out his plans. Sam seems to admire Homelander and sees a reflection of himself in him, but he’s actually making positive changes and deserves to recognize his own progress. Season 5 could give Sam the opportunity to use his connection with Homelander to get close enough for the other heroes to ambush the villain. While he might not survive, it could be a heroic and worthwhile sacrifice.

2) Cate Dunlap

Cate Dunlap is in a good position with Vought, much like Sam. She has access to the Tower and can also leverage her relationship with Marie to climb the ranks. Throughout Season 2 of Gen V, Cate consistently tries to show she’s a good friend and genuinely cares about others. She’ll need to maintain that image in The Boys, as the challenges she faces will only become more difficult.

1) Marie Moreau

The second season of Gen V focuses on giving Marie more power, which she’ll likely use when she appears in The Boys. It’s revealed that she’s just as strong as Homelander, both being products of Project Odessa. Along with Butcher, Marie will probably have a chance to fight Homelander in Season 5. But she needs to succeed, because if she fails, everything she cares about will be destroyed.
