Since its first season, the superhero team ‘The Seven’ in The Boys has constantly changed members, largely due to Homelander’s ruthless behavior. While the team is called The Seven, Vought rarely has seven supes serving on it at once. Characters like Starlight and Queen Maeve left after questioning their allegiances, and others – including Translucent, Lamplighter, Stormfront, Supersonic, and the original Black Noir – have died, leading to a constant stream of new faces. This instability continues into Season 5 of The Boys, as the show slowly says goodbye to supporting characters, leaving Homelander with fewer and fewer allies – though, given how powerful he is, that doesn’t seem to bother him much. Warning: Spoilers follow for The Boys Season 5, Episodes 1-6.
The first half of The Boys Season 5 sees three members of The Seven die: A-Train (who had already gone against the group at the end of last season), Firecracker, who paid the price for challenging Homelander, and Black Noir II, whose plan to get back at The Deep failed spectacularly. With Homelander taking A-Train’s place, only five members of The Seven remain – assuming Oh-Father is a full member, which the show hasn’t confirmed. Expect that number to drop even more in the final episodes. No one is safe in the escalating conflict between Homelander and The Boys, but the most powerful members of The Seven will likely survive longer than the rest.
5) The Deep

Besides Homelander, The Deep is the only remaining original member of The Seven in Season 5 of The Boys, and most people find that frustrating. Throughout the series, Chace Crawford’s character somehow manages to stay on Homelander’s good side – and avoid his worst anger. Despite having a potentially powerful ability – communicating with and controlling sea creatures – The Deep is generally considered the weakest member of the team. While another supe could do a lot more damage with that power, The Deep rarely uses it to its full extent and isn’t very strong physically. Characters like Starlight and Butcher have easily fought him, and it’s likely the rest of The Seven could do the same. Even those who couldn’t win in a fight could easily manipulate him, as The Deep isn’t known for being particularly smart or resourceful.
4) Oh-Father

Whether Oh-Father is a full member of The Seven in Season 5 of The Boys is uncertain, but he definitely acts like one. He attends their meetings and plays a key role in Homelander’s plans. This makes sense, given his position as a preacher gives him considerable influence – even more than The Deep. While Crawford’s supe may be cunning, Oh-Father demonstrates real physical strength in Season 5, Episode 6. He almost beats Starlight using his sonic scream, proving he’s a formidable opponent. Since Starlight doesn’t have as much trouble fighting The Deep, it’s clear Oh-Father is a bigger threat, particularly on land. However, Hughie manages to outsmart him, putting him just below Sister Sage in terms of power. She might not have the same raw strength, but her intelligence more than makes up for it.
3) Sister Sage

It’s difficult to judge Sister Sage’s fighting ability compared to the other members of The Seven, because she doesn’t often have to fight. This is because she’s incredibly intelligent – possibly the smartest person in the world – and uses her mind to stay out of trouble. This skill is a major strength, and it puts her in the middle of our ranking. While she isn’t perfect – as seen in Season 5, Episode 6 of The Boys – she’s still a formidable opponent. The unpredictable nature of both Soldier Boy and Homelander means they are the biggest threats to her abilities. If Sage is still secretly controlling them, her ranking could improve. However, she also risks being removed from The Seven or even killed, as Homelander won’t likely forgive her betrayal, so she’d better have a plan.
2) Soldier Boy

Okay, so as a huge fan of The Boys, let’s talk Soldier Boy. He’s seriously one of the most powerful supes they’ve shown us, easily ranking with the best in The Seven. It’s a tough call whether he’s stronger than Homelander, but Soldier Boy seemed to think Homelander had the edge, which is interesting. He doesn’t have Homelander’s heat vision or flight, that’s for sure. But here’s the kicker: Soldier Boy can actually take away other supes’ powers with his radiation blasts, even if they’ve taken Compound V! That’s a huge advantage Homelander doesn’t have. Honestly, I think that means he could potentially stop Homelander in these last couple of episodes. They’re pretty evenly matched in terms of raw strength, especially considering Soldier Boy already has the V running through him. But we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out in the next season, won’t we?
1) Homelander

Homelander is the strongest and most influential member of The Seven, making him their leader. The other superheroes are rightfully afraid of him, as he can ruin their careers or even kill them, as seen with Supersonic and Firecracker. He was already dangerous enough to kill his own teammates, and the new serum has likely made him even more powerful. Very few characters can challenge him now, and only one is currently on The Seven. With his increased power, Homelander may no longer need his team at all, and he seems to be aiming for an even larger role – potentially as President of the United States – extending his control beyond Vought’s influence.
