Every Rumored PS6 Game So Far

As the PlayStation 5 approaches its 5-year anniversary, talk about the next console, the PS6, is starting to build. While Sony hasn’t officially announced it yet, a release sometime between 2027 and 2028 seems probable. This means some of the games currently in development for PlayStation could actually launch as initial titles for the PS6.

Sony hasn’t officially announced the PlayStation 6, but they’ve suggested a new console is in development. With Sony planning to end support for some PS3 features, a new console seems likely within the next few years. Recent statements indicate they plan to showcase new technology around 2027 or 2028, suggesting that’s when we might see the PS6. This means many upcoming PlayStation games, such as *Marvel’s Wolverine*, will probably be released on the PS5. However, a few confirmed and unconfirmed titles are more likely to appear when the PS6 finally launches. Here’s a list of all the games currently rumored to be in development for the PS6.

The Witcher 4

We have a good idea of what to expect from *The Witcher 4*, more so than with many other games on this list. CD Projekt RED has already shown a trailer confirming that Ciri will be the main character you play as. This is a shift from previous games, which centered around Geralt. Because of this, fans are excited to see how the new game will utilize Ciri’s abilities and story.

CD Projekt Red has stated that the next Witcher game won’t be released until at least 2027. Considering when the next generation of consoles, like the PS6, are expected to launch, it’s more probable that *The Witcher 4* will be a game for those new consoles rather than the PS5.

Insomniac’s Marvel’s X-Men

With a release timeframe now set for Insomniac’s *Marvel’s Wolverine*, we know it’s coming to the PS5. But rumors suggest the studio is also planning another X-Men game after Wolverine. Honestly, I’m even more eager to see a full X-Men team adventure, so I’m keeping a close watch on that project.

If Insomniac Games is truly working on a new *X-Men* game, it likely won’t be released until 2030 or later. This would almost certainly mean it’s a PlayStation 6 game, unless Sony significantly changes its usual schedule for releasing new consoles.

Rocksteady’s Batman Game

Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Rocksteady, the studio known for the *Batman: Arkham* series, is beginning work on a new Batman game. However, this game hasn’t been officially announced, and current information suggests it’s still in the very early stages of development. If Rocksteady is indeed planning another Batman title, it likely won’t be released for several years.

With a new LEGO Batman game planned for 2026, PlayStation 5 owners have something to anticipate. However, if rumors are true about a new Batman game from Rocksteady, it probably won’t be released until after the PlayStation 6 is already out.

Guerilla Games’ Horizon 3

The creators of the *Horizon* games have announced they’re developing the third one. Currently known as *Horizon 3*, it’s not expected to be released until at least 2027. Previous *Horizon* games have only been available on PlayStation, and the next installment will probably follow suit.

Details about the new game are scarce, but we do know it will follow Aloy’s adventures. Considering how well the *Horizon* games have done, Sony might be planning to release *Horizon 3* with the PlayStation 6. It seems the game will likely come out around the same time as, or even after, Sony’s next console, instead of being available on the PS5.

Hideo Kojima’s Physint

Among the games rumored for the PS6, *Physint* seems to be one of the most likely. Hideo Kojima has hinted that he’s developing the game specifically for the PS6, meaning it won’t be released on the PS5.

Hideo Kojima’s next project remains largely a mystery, though he’s described it as a blend of a video game and a movie. So far, all we’ve seen is a poster, and even the current title, *Physint*, might be different when the game is finally released.

Currently, these games represent our most informed predictions for what will launch on the PS6, rather than the PS5. Considering the PS6 might arrive in just a few years, it’s also probable that unannounced projects are being developed with that console in mind.
