Every Star Wars Actor Already Cast in the DCU

The new DC Universe, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, began in December 2024 with the animated series Creature Commandos, kicking off what they call “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” In 2025, Superman successfully rebooted the franchise, followed by the second season of Peacemaker on HBO. 2026 is packed with new content, starting with Supergirl on June 26th, then Lanterns debuting on HBO in August, and finishing with the horror film Clayface on October 23rd. Looking ahead, Man of Tomorrow is slated for 2027, and several other projects are in the works, including new movies for Wonder Woman and Batman. This approach has given the franchise real energy, and the casting strategy smartly mixes well-known actors with up-and-coming talent who are expected to play their roles for many years to come.

DC Studios’ choices for its new universe have surprisingly resulted in many actors who also star in Star Wars projects being cast. It’s notable how many actors are appearing in both DCU and Star Wars films, shows, and animated series.

9) Tim Meadows

Tim Meadows, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, has become a valuable addition to the DC Universe. He played Langston Fleury in Season 2 of Peacemaker, a witty and often critical government agent whose clashes with John Economos provided some of the show’s funniest moments. He also appeared in a 2023 episode of The Mandalorian as Colonel Tuttle, a military officer dealing with a pirate attack. Both roles showcase Meadows’ established comedic talent, and his significant part in Peacemaker suggests he’ll continue to be a key player in the DCU, particularly within its intelligence network.

8) Peter Serafinowicz

Peter Serafinowicz plays Victor Frankenstein in Creature Commandos, the mad scientist who created both Eric Frankenstein (voiced by David Harbour) and his Bride (voiced by Indira Varma). While it’s not a main role, casting Serafinowicz is typical of James Gunn’s approach – using actors he’s worked with before in specific, important parts. Serafinowicz’s connection to Star Wars goes way back – he was the first voice of Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, providing all of the character’s limited dialogue. He even returned to the role for Solo: A Star Wars Story, although his performance was ultimately replaced with one by Sam Witwer.

7) David Harbour

David Harbour is a key player in Creature Commandos, where he portrays Eric Frankenstein throughout the first season. His character is a lonely monster constantly trying to win the affection of the Bride, who always turns him down. Harbour’s performance provides a lot of the series’ emotional depth, and he’s already confirmed to return for a second season. He also had a smaller role in Star Wars, voicing Tajin Crosser, a Jedi Master, in the English dub of the Star Wars: Visions episode, “The Elder.”

6) Dee Bradley Baker

Many viewers might be surprised to find out that Dee Bradley Baker provides the voice for Eagly, Peacemaker’s devoted bald eagle, throughout both seasons of the show. Eagly even gets promoted to Prime Eagle in Season 2! But Baker’s work on Star Wars is truly remarkable – he voiced every clone trooper in The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch, including popular characters like Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and all the members of Clone Force 99. His skill in creating unique voices for so many genetically identical soldiers is considered one of the most impressive vocal performances in the entire Star Wars franchise.

5) Indira Varma

Varma provides the voice for the Bride in Creature Commandos, the effective leader of Task Force M. The show’s first season follows the Bride’s journey as a centuries-old artificial being who reluctantly begins to develop feelings for others. Gunn has stated this casting was specifically chosen with the intention of bringing Varma’s version of the Bride into future live-action DCU projects. Previously, she played Tala Durith, a rebellious Imperial officer helping to hide Jedi survivors, in the 2022 Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

4) Alan Tudyk

Alan Tudyk has collaborated frequently with James Gunn in the DC Universe, voicing several characters including the villain Dr. Phosphorus, as well as Clayface, Will Magnus, and Tanner in Creature Commandos. He also appeared in the Superman film, providing the voice for one of Kal-El’s robots, Gary. Beyond DC, Tudyk is well-known for his work in Star Wars, where he voiced and physically performed as K-2SO, a reprogrammed Imperial droid who became a Rebel asset, in both Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the Andor series. K-2SO quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his witty remarks and brave, often reckless, personality – making him one of the most popular characters added to Star Wars since Disney acquired the franchise.

3) Naomi Ackie

Naomi Ackie will star as Dr. Caitlin Bates in Clayface, a movie about a scientist whose experimental treatment turns a struggling actor, Matt Hagen (played by Tom Rhys Harries), into the shape-shifting villain. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan, the mid-$40 million body horror film is expected to release on October 23, 2026. Ackie is known for her role as Jannah in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where she played a stormtrooper who switched sides to fight with the Resistance.

2) Aaron Pierre

Aaron Pierre is quickly becoming a major star in both the DC and Star Wars universes. He’ll play Green Lantern John Stewart in the upcoming HBO series Lanterns, debuting in August 2026, and is set to return in the 2027 film Man of Tomorrow. He’s also joined the Star Wars franchise, cast in Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter, scheduled for release on May 28, 2027, though his specific role remains a secret. Pierre publicly shared his excitement about the project and Levy’s dedication in October 2025.

1) Adria Arjona

Adria Arjona is joining the cast of James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow, and will play Maxima, a powerful alien queen who isn’t quite a villain or a hero. This news, reported by Variety, adds Arjona to a cast that already includes David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, Lars Eidinger, and Aaron Pierre. Arjona is well-known for her role as Bix Caleen in Andor, a performance that was highly praised and made her a popular choice among fans for a role in the DC Universe.
