I’m so excited! It feels like the best time of year because a new season of the Fallout show is almost here. I can’t wait to watch it!
A new trailer for Season 2 of the popular video game adaptation, created by Bethesda Game Studios and Prime Video, was released on Thursday. It offers another glimpse into the upcoming return to the post-apocalyptic world. You can watch the trailer here:
The movie is packed with action and explosions, and introduces some new faces. Macaulay Culkin, known from ‘Home Alone,’ plays a key role in Caesar’s Legion, and Kumail Nanjiani, of ‘Eternals,’ joins the Brotherhood of Steel.
What really caught my attention in this trailer wasn’t just the visuals, but the audio. Around the 1 minute and 10 second mark, during the black screen, a very deep voice appears, and it strongly suggests the presence of a Super Mutant.
I’m especially curious to find out what group this new mutant character is connected to, and what part they’ll play in the story. We’ve only seen one dead Nightkin so far, and haven’t encountered any Super Mutants yet in the Fallout TV series. With the show already bringing in other familiar elements like the Deathclaw, it’ll be interesting to see where this new mutant fits in.
This season is clearly centered around the Fallout: New Vegas setting, and I’m really interested to see how the show manages to avoid locking players into specific storylines when the game itself offers so much freedom and choice.
The second season of the Fallout TV show premieres on December 17th, and I’m excited to watch it after really enjoying the first season. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can stream it on Prime Video or buy it on 4K Blu-ray.
As we wait for one of the best video game adaptations to return, more are coming

Besides the Fallout TV show – which will have a third season – several other video games are being turned into shows or movies, and some of these are also from Xbox games.
The team that created the Fallout TV show is reportedly working with Amazon MGM Studios again, this time to develop a project based on Wolfenstein, a game franchise from Bethesda Softworks.
Activision and Paramount are teaming up to create a Call of Duty movie. They’ve enlisted acclaimed Hollywood creators Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg to direct the film.
I’m tracking some exciting developments in video game adaptations. A Gears of War movie is currently in the works at Netflix, and given the massive success of the first Minecraft Movie – it nearly made a billion dollars! – a sequel is already scheduled for release in 2027.
