Family Guy Gets Major Change to 2026 Schedule (And It’s Great News for Fans)

Fans of Family Guy will be happy to hear the show is getting a new schedule when it returns to Fox next year. After a somewhat unusual couple of years – including its 25th anniversary and a year off due to scheduling – the show will once again air as part of Fox’s midseason lineup, rather than in the fall.

Fox has given fans a sneak peek at its winter 2026 programming, and confirmed that Family Guy will be back for a 24th season this February. However, the show will have a slightly different format: new episodes will air alongside episodes of Universal Basic Guys and the returning American Dad!, meaning viewers will get two Family Guy episodes each week. This means fans can enjoy a larger number of episodes throughout the season.

Family Guy Confirms Winter 2026 Schedule

Fox has announced its midseason lineup, and fans of Family Guy have a lot to look forward to! Season 24 will premiere on Sunday, February 15th at 9:30 PM ET, before moving to its regular timeslot of 8:00 PM ET the following week. That same night, new episodes of Universal Basic Guys and American Dad! will also air. The night will finish with another new Family Guy episode at 9:30 PM ET, giving viewers two episodes of the show each Sunday – a move that’s expected to be popular with audiences.

The main concern with this TV schedule is that it’s moving through Season 24 of Family Guy quite fast. However, Fox hasn’t said how long this faster pace will last. Luckily, Fox has other popular animated shows like Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons that will likely be added to the schedule in a few months. This increased number of Family Guy episodes is only temporary.

What’s Coming in Family Guy Season 24?

Season 24 of Family Guy is shaping up to be quite an event! A major storyline will finally have Lois understanding what Stewie says, and the show is planning a parody of The Lord of the Rings, among other things. Like past seasons, expect a fast-paced, unpredictable mix of hilarious hits and misses as the show throws out joke after joke.

With Family Guy nearing its 25th season, the show is trying out new things with its characters. We’ve seen surprising reveals, significant character deaths, and major storylines, showing there’s still a lot of creativity driving the series. And next year, we’ll be getting even more, with double the number of episodes.
