I was really happy to see Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja respond so quickly to the feedback about the grainy filter in the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly demo! A lot of us were bothered by it, and they’re adding an option to just turn it off completely, which is awesome. That means we’ll finally be able to see the game looking its best!
I remember mentioning the visual filter in my review, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed you couldn’t turn it off. Thankfully, the PC version does let you disable it, but it felt really strange that consoles didn’t have that option. It’s awesome to see the developers are already working on fixing this before the game comes out on March 12th – that’s a great sign!
The demo for the game’s remake has generally been positive, though some players have criticized the grainy filter. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like players will be able to turn this filter off on the Switch 2, which is the final platform where the game will be playable. Many would appreciate being able to enjoy the updated graphics and lighting on any system.
While you wait for the game’s release, you can see the tweet below. It offers a glimpse of the dark and thrilling adventure that awaits Mio and Mayu.
