Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is getting a big update with 120Hz refresh rate and VRR today.
As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that while the game maintains its 60fps speed, it now offers additional settings – exclusive to compatible displays – designed to minimize input lag and enhance the fluidity of gameplay in certain situations. Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, but these new features are a welcome addition for many players like myself.
Apart from making some small adjustments to the game’s balance and fixing a few issues, version 1.21 will also introduce a storyline featuring the guest character, Cristiano Ronaldo, into the gameplay.
Now, you can choose to play the Portuguese footballer character in both Arcade Mode and the Single-Player Role Playing Game (RPG) Mode called “Episodes of South Town”. These two modes, surprisingly, weren’t available when the game was first released.
Here’s what developer SNK says about the patch:
This new version brings extra functions and enhancements to make your gameplay even better, plus a more effortless transition. We’ve included new storylines featuring Cristiano Ronaldo too. Enjoy playing City of the Wolves, keep pushing forward!
On the weekend, it was additionally disclosed that the Japanese studio is planning to incorporate Ken from Street Fighter into the game, which will officially occur later in the summer.
SNK is likely anticipating that ongoing updates and enhancements will motivate fans of fighting games to explore the game, since its sales performance has fallen short of expectations so far.
