Father Brown future confirmed and it’s good news for fans, as guest cast revealed

Fans of Father Brown can look forward to more mysteries, as the BBC has announced the show will continue with new episodes.

The popular, comforting drama starring Mark Williams as the detective priest is coming back for two more seasons, and will feature some new cast members.

Production on the fourteenth season of the historical drama is underway in the Cotswolds, and will feature appearances by guest stars Bill Bailey and Clive Mantle.

Hannah Bristow, known for her roles in shows like A Small Light and The Man Who Fell to Earth, will be playing Rita Flint, the new, practical and direct housekeeper on Father Brown.

Season 14 of Father Brown brings a fresh set of puzzling crimes to 1955 Kembleford, involving everything from stage magicians to dangerous spiders.

Things aren’t what they seem when Father Brown gets a visit from Father Lazarus, a recently escaped convict who’s determined to get revenge.

Father Brown will face his greatest enemy again this season. This foe will challenge him repeatedly, leading to a thrilling climax in the final episode.

Tom Chambers, Claudie Blakley, and John Burton will all be reprising their roles as Inspector Sullivan, Mrs. Isabel Sullivan, and Sergeant Goodfellow, respectively, alongside Williams in the new episodes.

Fan favorites Nancy Carroll (Lady Felicia), Lex Shrapnel (Father Lazarus), Roger May (Bishop Fox), and Kieran Hodgson (Father Lindsey) are all returning for more episodes.

Helen Munson, a BBC editor, announced the show’s return, saying they’re excited to partner with BBC Studios to create two more seasons for the show’s dedicated fans.

Thanks to excellent writing, a wonderful cast, and the stunning scenery of the Cotswolds, it’s easy to see why Father Brown remains so popular with viewers worldwide.

Season 14 is expected to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in early 2027. Details about Season 15 will be revealed later.
