Final Season of Good Omens Halts Production After Neil Gaiman Sexual Assault Accusations

As a long-time fan of Neil Gaiman‘s work, I must admit that I am deeply disheartened by the recent allegations against him. The stories we love, like Good Omens and The Sandman, have brought immense joy to countless people, myself included. However, it is crucial to prioritize truth and justice above all else.

The filming of Good Omens has temporarily stopped due to multiple accusations of inappropriate behavior towards women, leveled against co-creator Neil Gaiman. Known for his works such as The Sandman and Coraline, Gaiman has been under investigation since July following a podcast on Tortoise Media that contained allegations from two individuals. As of now, there are at least five accusers in total, one of whom claims to have signed a confidentiality agreement with him. One of the original accusers, who worked as a nanny in Gaiman’s New Zealand home, has already reported the matter to the police. The case is currently under investigation, with initial reports indicating that the authorities are having difficulty reaching the woman.

According to reports from both Deadline and Variety, Amazon has been contemplating adjustments regarding the project, possibly aiming to reduce Neil Gaiman’s influence and potential risk of legal complications or negative publicity.

On the third of July, a four-part podcast series by the UK-based Tortoise Media emerged, disclosing accusations of sexual misconduct against me from two distinct individuals. One woman asserts she was 18 in 2003 when I allegedly assaulted her, while another declared her encounters with me occurred in 2022 when she was 25. Both women described our interactions as consensual initially, but they later alleged that I engaged in acts without their consent. (As a fan, I’m sharing this information to maintain openness and transparency regarding the allegations against me.)

Previously, Disney temporarily halted the production of their film version of Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book.” Marc Forster, who has directed films such as “A Man Called Otto,” “Christopher Robin,” and “World War Z,” was initially assigned to lead the project.

As a gaming enthusiast diving into the world of television, I’ve found myself captivated by “Good Omens,” a show inspired by the novel penned by the brilliant minds of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. In this tale, an angel and a demon join forces to thwart the end of days, opting instead for a life filled with Earth’s endless charm. The characters, brought to life by the exceptional talents of Michael Sheen and David Tennant, quickly became internet sensations. The show’s success was so immense that Amazon couldn’t resist asking for more!

Initially, the plan was to base the series on the book and conclude it there. However, Gaiman found additional ideas from discussions with Pratchett that didn’t make it into the original work, which allowed for an extension. The second season enjoyed similar popularity, but due to limited source material, a third season was planned as the final one.
