It feels like Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet just came out recently, but The Pokemon Company is already preparing to release its next game for Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. Pokemon Champions will launch on Nintendo consoles on April 8th, with a mobile version coming later. This new battle simulator is set to become the standard for competitive Pokemon battling, and players are excited to try it out. As an added bonus, players who try the game early will receive some free in-game items.
Pokemon Champions will be a free game you can start playing immediately, with optional purchases available in the game. These include a battle pass and a starter pack to help new players jump into the competitive scene. Both experienced and new Pokemon players will find something to enjoy, so it’s worth checking out soon! Recently, the bonus for downloading the game early has become even more appealing, especially for those new to Pokemon, according to the Pokemon website Serebii.
Players Get Free Pulls & A Free Pokemon for Downloading Pokemon Champions Early

During the recent Pokémon Day broadcast, Pokémon Champions announced its first free gift for players. If you download the game on Nintendo Switch or the upcoming Switch 2 and play between April 8th and August 31st, you’ll receive a free Dragonite. Considering you normally need to use in-game money to add Pokémon to your team in Champions, that’s a pretty good offer. And now, The Pokémon Company has made it even better by adding another free bonus for early downloaders.
Players who start playing Pokemon Champions soon will receive a free Dragonite and 100 Quick Coupons. These coupons let you get new Pokemon from the Pokemon Ranch faster, without using Victory Points. If you’re building a new team within Champions instead of transferring one from Pokemon HOME, these coupons will help you do it more quickly.
As a Pokémon fan, I’m so excited to hear that if you download and play Pokémon Champions between April 8th and August 31st, you’ll get some free stuff! It sounds like the rewards will pop up as messages right in the game, which is super convenient.
Pokemon Champions Starter Pack Pricing Confirmed in the U.S.

Good news for players eager to jump in: we now know the U.S. prices for the Pokemon Champions starter packs! Before, we had to estimate based on Japanese pricing, but the Nintendo eShop has been updated with the official cost for Pokemon Champions + Starter Pack. And it’s surprisingly affordable!
The Pokemon Champions Starter Pack is available for $6.99. It includes 50 extra spaces for storing Pokemon, 30 Teammate Tickets, and 50 Training Tickets. These items help you find and level up Pokemon without using Victory Points. You’ll also get a unique song, “Battle! (Trainer Battle),” to play during battles.
Pokemon Champions is giving new players lots of helpful tools to start building their teams. It’s still unclear how much these tools will benefit players transferring teams from Pokemon HOME, but the extra storage space will probably be essential for anyone planning to battle competitively over a long period.
Pokemon Champions will be available on Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 starting April 8th. The game is free to begin playing, but offers optional items you can buy within the game. A mobile version is also planned, but its release date hasn’t been announced yet.
