I just got a sneak peek at some gameplay footage for the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, straight from Capcom! They dropped it during their Spotlight showcase. Check out the video up there to get a taste of the action yourself.
During breaks between interviews with main developers at the studio, Capcom unveiled several gameplay videos from different viewpoints, including first and third person. These perspectives can easily be switched within the game. The videos show the new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, strolling down corridors carrying a lighter in one scene, and later on, what seems to be a grand entrance hall.

The thorough exploration reveals that Resident Evil Requiem takes place 30 years after Raccoon City was destroyed, and Leon Kennedy is mentioned, with developers explaining why he wasn’t made the central character. Given his past encounters, it’s suggested that Leon wouldn’t find the horrors of Requiem particularly frightening due to his experiences.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Resident Evil Requiem is set to grace the PS5 on February 27th, 2026! Mark your calendars, fellow survivors, as this date promises an unforgettable gaming experience. Now, if our luck holds, we’ll catch a glimpse of it at Gamescom 2025, where it’s been confirmed to be playable! Can’t wait for more updates on this horror masterpiece!
