First The Last of Us Season 3 Set Photos Surface, But Does Anyone Still Care?

It’s clear that the HBO series, The Last of Us, has lost its initial momentum and feels much less engaging now.

It’s disappointing to see this adaptation falter, especially considering how much praise the original received. Despite Kaitlyn Dever being a talented actress, she faced a tough challenge playing Abby, and poor casting choices and a weak plot have unfortunately derailed the series’ initial success.

Despite the change in leadership, we’re getting our first look at photos from the set of Season 3. This season is being filmed without Neil Druckmann, who has returned to Naughty Dog full-time to finish their new PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

These images have sparked some debate, as they feature Abby and Lev – characters from the Seattle portion of the game, with Lev being portrayed by Kyriana Kratter.

In the game, Lev is a transgender boy, and some have criticised HBO for casting a girl in the role.

Kratter’s appearance is remarkably accurate to the game, perfectly capturing Lev’s distinctive look with a shaved head and Seraphite coat. She’s a fantastic representation of the character.

The show’s future is uncertain. Although critics generally like Season 2 – giving it a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes – viewers aren’t as impressed, with only a 32% rating. This is a significant drop from the 86% viewer score the first season received.

It seems like Season 3 is likely the end of the series, which is probably a good thing for now, especially considering we’re still waiting for a third game to be released.
