The last decade has seen some incredible action movies, with new contenders appearing every year, including this week’s release, The Running Man. However, surpassing the best is a tall order. One film stands out – it won an Academy Award, was a huge international success, and is highly rated by both viewers and critics. Now, we’re getting a first glimpse of the director’s latest project, starring a major actor.
Director S.S. Rajamouli, known for the 2022 blockbuster RRR, has a new film coming out. While the title hasn’t been revealed yet, we know Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star as Mandakini. You can see a first look at the movie and Priyanka Chopra Jonas courtesy of Variety below.
The upcoming movie starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas promises plenty of action, potentially on the scale of the blockbuster film RRR, which is exciting for fans. While the cast isn’t complete yet, it will feature Priyanka Chopra Jonas alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
I’m really excited about this new film! It’s being billed as a huge, original action-adventure, and it follows a group of heroes on some seriously dangerous missions all over the globe. The title’s finally going to be revealed at a fan event in Hyderabad this weekend, which I’m counting down the days for. Fingers crossed they show us a trailer or at least a little bit of footage too – thankfully, it doesn’t seem like we’ll have to wait much longer to find out more.
Released in 2022, RRR quickly became a huge hit, with exciting clips from its action scenes spreading rapidly online. The film has received excellent reviews, earning a 96% score from critics and a 94% audience approval rating (based on over 500 ratings) on Rotten Tomatoes. If its new film performs as well as RRR, it could be something extraordinary.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas was recently in the films Heads of State and the Oscar-nominated short Anuja, and she also played a leading role in the Prime Video series Citadel. Mahesh Babu has recently appeared in Guntur Kaaram and Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and Fahadh Faasil has been in Sarzameen and L2: Empuraan.
