Stephen King fans were surprised to find the Hulu series Castle Rock on Netflix, Hulu’s main competitor. Now, another Stephen King series originally on Hulu will be added to Netflix next month. This one is especially notable because it was removed from Hulu earlier this year, making its arrival on Netflix a significant comeback.
Hulu took down its series adaptation of Stephen King’s 11.22.63 earlier this year, almost ten years after it first came out. Now, surprisingly, the show starring James Franco will be available on Netflix starting January 7th. This move mirrors what happened with Castle Rock, and it adds another Stephen King title to Netflix’s growing collection.
I absolutely loved 11.22.63! It’s an eight-part series from 2016 starring James Franco as a guy who gets the chance to go back in time and try to prevent President Kennedy’s assassination. It’s based on Stephen King’s fantastic novel, and when it came out, most people really enjoyed it – it got a great score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Coming Soon to Netflix
Despite losing the popular show Lost next month, Netflix is adding a lot of new TV content in January. Falling Skies returns to the platform on New Year’s Day after being unavailable for a while, and Found and The Following will be added shortly after. The week kicks off with the arrival of 11.22.63 on January 7th.
