Good news for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers! The highly-rated PSP version of Tekken 5, called Tekken: Dark Resurrection, is now available to download.
But like all of Bandai Namco’s emulated ports, it’s arrived without Trophies.
Sony usually requires certain collectibles for retro game releases, but they’ve made an exception this time, meaning you won’t be forced to find every little item.
Typically, the company that owns the gaming platform includes this feature in its own games. Other companies, such as Disney, have also started making their games compatible with it.
Bandai Namco’s games haven’t been getting much attention lately, possibly due to budget constraints or simply a lack of excitement surrounding their releases.
It’s a shame to see them go, especially since they were one of the few publishers supporting Sony’s efforts, and they have a fantastic library of games. Fans would love to see Trophies added to classics like Ridge Racer Type-4 and SoulCalibur 3, which are already part of the service.
Honestly, Tekken: Dark Resurrection runs really well on the PS5 through emulation. The game feels responsive and looks surprisingly good.
(The pre-rendered menus and character profiles are a bit grainy, but that’s to be expected.)
Bandai Namco is bringing the classic arcade shooter Time Crisis to PlayStation Plus Premium on May 21st. Like other recent additions, it likely won’t include PlayStation Trophies.
We’re hoping they might add gongs to the game in a future update, and that’s currently our only chance.
C’mon Bandai Namco, you’ve done the hard work here – throw some Trophies in for fun.
