FX and Ryan Murphy are teaming up again, this time with Evan Peters (known from *American Horror Story*), to create another chilling and disturbing series. Given Murphy’s history of dark and unsettling shows like *American Horror Story* and *Monster*, this collaboration isn’t unexpected. The series, based on a popular comic, is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 and is already generating a lot of excitement among fans.
I’m really fascinated by *The Beauty*. It’s based on this incredible comic, and it follows detectives Drew Foster and Kara Vaughn as they try to figure out what’s behind this terrifying new STD – it’s called ‘the Beauty,’ and while it changes how people look, it’s actually deadly. What makes it even more intense is they’re dealing with crooked officials and hired guns trying to stop them, all while uncovering what looks like a huge government cover-up. It’s a wild ride!
The Beauty Will Absolutely Pack In The Creep Factor

The core idea behind the comic is unsettling: our society’s obsession with beauty. It asks what would happen if you could become increasingly beautiful every day, but this improvement came as a sexually transmitted disease. In “The Beauty,” achieving physical perfection is possible, and most people have chosen to do so. However, Detectives Foster and Vaughn will uncover a dark side to this seemingly perfect world. Given the creator’s previous work, this disturbing premise feels like something he’ll explore fully.
According to Murphy, his new show, *The Beauty*, is a science fiction medical drama centered around a sexually transmitted virus that transforms people into their ideal selves. He asks the central question: how much would people give up to achieve perfection, and would the cost even matter? He describes it as his most ambitious project yet, shooting on location in Venice, Rome, and Paris with a budget comparable to *Game of Thrones*.
I’m really excited about the cast they’ve assembled for this! IMDB already confirms we’ve got some fantastic actors like Rebecca Hall, Anthony Ramos, and Patrick Luwis. Plus, it’s cool to see some fresh faces too – I’m particularly intrigued by Chanel Stewart and can’t wait to see what she brings to the role.
