Gary Lineker among celebs cut from Celebrity Apprentice 2025 special after appearances filmed

Gary Lineker’s appearance has been cut from the BBC’s Celebrity Apprentice 2025 Christmas special.

The former football player and TV commentator, who left his role hosting the popular show Match of the Day earlier this year, won’t be appearing in the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice episodes for Children in Need, despite having filmed scenes in March.

The videos featuring these celebrities will likely be posted online soon after the shows they’re part of are broadcast.

The next episodes of Celebrity Apprentice will feature twelve celebrities traveling to Lapland. There, they’ll compete by baking and selling holiday biscuits.

Baroness Karren Brady, Lord Sugar’s assistant, explained when the special was announced last month that many people are eager to participate because they enjoy the show, support the chosen charity, and have a good relationship with the celebrities involved.

The list of celebrities includes Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Robbie Williams, Piers Morgan, Rylan Clark, and Gary Lineker.

Lord Sugar commented that he was really impressed they were able to get such well-known people involved.

What really strikes me about these celebrities – and I truly admire them for it – is their willingness to dedicate three days out of their incredibly packed schedules to such a wonderful cause. Ultimately, it’s all about the money they help raise for Children in Need, and that’s what matters most.

Gary Lineker stopped working for the BBC in May after posting a social media message that many people considered to be antisemitic. He has since deleted the post.

Lineker quickly apologized and explained he removed the post as soon as he realized there was a problem, and that he would never intentionally share anything antisemitic.

He’s now hosting a new game show called The Box on ITV, and his popular podcast, The Rest Is Football, will be available daily on Netflix during the 2026 World Cup, featuring Alan Shearer and Micah Richards.
